Wow Raytracing

Hi, is it just me or what is happening with this games Raytracing? I have it enabled to high but i can scroll any options so it just is disabled. Is there something going on? I have 4070 ti super as GPU so it should not be a problem. Game is otherwise running very well.

It’s disabled since last patch.
There was a note in the latest Nvidia driver that RT was causing issues in WoW.

Do you know if it was causing issues only for RTX50 series or also RTX 20/30/40 series ?

Can’t really say cause i have them off, even with my 4090.
They just hit the already limiting CPU even harder, so that’s a no go for me for that minimal visual gain

Having no fps issues on my 7900 XTX so i find it quite odd you aren’t using RT assuming it works of course without issues.

Well, like i said, raytracing has a CPU cost and WoW is already CPU limited.
So i turn on RT and lose FPS even though my GPU is almost idle

You won’t notice it while questing most of the time… only in raids, cities… or just when there are many players or NPCs that have shadows.

I used RT even on my 5950x but now i have a 9950x3D i do not really see much of an fps loss, heck i gained a lot of fps.

Anyway hope they fix RT soon for NVIDIA users, why else would you go NVIDIA since AMD in some cases has more FPS anyway without RT alto that is difference since last generation and matters a lot less now, but only because of RT.

I mean… the main reason to go Nvidia is cause of DLSS, let’s be real
FSR 4 is good but still not as good and most importantly… barely any game supports it.

Pathtracing is also still unplayable on AMD GPUs unless you wanna play at like 360P upscaled :stuck_out_tongue:

Its barely playable even on NVIDIA gpu’s tho unless you consider using framegen at 30 fps playable

What do you mean?
I’ve played Cyberpunk and Indiana Jones with Pathtracing at 1440P DLSS Quality + FG at 100+ FPS on my 4090.
It’s perfectly playable, ofc i wouldn’t use FG for competetive games
Base FPS has to be 60-70 FPS though at least.

Never use raytracing in any of my games. Like it more without it.

For me raytrazing is just a selling gimmic from nvidia

Looks like RT is not working on Radeon GPU’s either that is BS never had problems let us disable it our settings ourself if it gives issues rather then trying to baby sit me as if i have no clue what i am doing.

Its showing its enabled on high but simply makes no difference.

I hope to find a solution honestly its not like i have NVIDIA gpu i know there where known issue with RT causing graphical glitches for RTX 50 series but only for RTX 50 series, that should not be a reason to enforce RT to not work on all hardware if anything that should mean a recommendation to turn it off when having RTX 50 series GPU for now.

Raytracing working fine on PTR 11.2 so only not working for me on retail 11.7.
