Hi,
is it just for me or the shortcut which can be “created” from the Battle.net client via Options (menu next to the play button)/Create Desktop Shortcut is not working properly. I am trying to launch WoW with the shortcut but it’s only launches the Battle.net client.
The shortcut created using the Battle.net application is created for launching the game through the Battle.net application. If you wish to launch a game directly, you would need to manually create a shortcut from the games installation folder.
Hi,
SO… as I mentioned I am creating the shortcut FROM THE BATTLE.NET CLIENT!
The PROBLEM is; that the shortcut not launching THE GAME, only the client is popping up.
I do not want to launch the game directly, I want to launch it with shortcut which opens the client and automatically launches the game! It worked before… now it does nothing just opens the client but not the game.
The target of the shortcut which is created from/via the client:
"…\World of Warcraft\World of Warcraft Launcher.exe" --productcode=wow
(At the above shortcut target; I have deleted the full path of the folder… SO YEAH the path is fine on my PC, it is even have the predefined switches at the end!)
Now, again… the question: what is the problem with the shortcuts created from/via the launcher?
I have tired it on different PCs with different OS and the issue is the same, NONE OF THE SHORTCUTS (CREATED FROM/VIA THE LAUNCHER) IS LAUNCHING THE GAME.
Before anyone tells me again to create the shortcut from the Client… please do so at your end and you will see it is not working!
I don’t think the shortcuts created from the “new” launcher have ever directly launched the game, they have just opened the correct “tab” for the game so you still have to press Play to start the game.
Well, yes they did. It worked for me and I have used them before.
