WoW subscription needed?

What about removing the need to pay subscription fees if the expansions themselves cost around 80 euros for higher editions, with the subscription fees as such mainly to prevent players who cheat in the game from creating a huge number of accounts just because they get banned…but that hasn’t been the case for a while and the game itself doesn’t prevent RMT and still supports RMT using the wow token. So why pay a subscription? Why not make longer expansions with a more expensive price? Would you be in favor of this solution?

So you want more of a cash shop right?
Gear sold on the shop, mogs, pets, mounts, boosts, weapons etc?

Cos that’s what you’re asking for

My wow sub costs I think 9€, that’s 2 cups of coffee a month, I get rather more a month out of wow than I get out of 2 cups of coffee. I’ll take the game being ad free and the shop being mostly out of the way in exchange for that.

we already have that

So point me to the section where I can buy gear then?

Sure.

I recently pre-purchased Civilization VII. There were different versions at different price points, like with WoW. I bought the most expensive one, because it includes upcoming DLC as well.

Premium pricing for premium product with paid DLC. No subscription. You get what you pay for, and when you’ve paid it’s yours to enjoy at your own leisure.

And that’s pretty much the approach most triple A and other premium games take. High box prices and lots of DLC. But you always pay for something tangible and you can pick and choose what you want to buy.

I like that a lot more than WoW’s forced subscription model where I feel like I’m just giving Blizzard 13 bucks every month for God knows what reason.

But it’s not happening, because those 13 bucks every month are free money for Blizzard. Why would they willingly choose not to grab it when they can?

Microsoft has always sold Xbox at a massive loss. Someone has to pay for that.

The minute they go subcriptionless is the moment the game goes completely down the drain.

I don’t have to explain why, I think anyone with half a working brain can figure it out. Or just play any other game that has gone it in the past decade, and see how fast the game declined.

2 ?!!??!?! cheap country. here 9 is not enough for 1 cup.

We already have this though, so your argument fails

I dont think my argument has failed hun if you can learn to read

The WoW Token. That’s indirectly the same as buying gear. You just have to go through a few extra steps to get that gear, but you’ll essentially get it for the money you spent.

The reason why Blizzard don’t sell gear outright on the store is of course because that would be very unpopular. So they sell it indirectly instead, through a means that players are more amendable toward.
It’s smart business.

Darth Jito is right

Because Blizzard is a business first and foremost and as a business there goal is to make a profit. The Devs answer to a Director, the Director answers to a Chief Executive and the Chief Executive answers to share holders who want to see a profit on their investment.

So Blizz will do anything and everything they can to make money. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves!!! Welcome to Capitalism!!!

Its horrendous what this expansion delivered, considering we have to pay for both the game itself and the sub.
Huge lack of content and, long queues and game breaking bugs…What a scam.

I played the early access and I’m currently playing the expansion around 4,5 hours per day.

I literally encountered 0 bugs, 0 queues and the content keeps me busy.

Why do you talk such bull*hit for no reason? You know it’s not true.

People like you should be called out and publicly shamed to be honest.

Thank you brother, your comment just made me burst out in laughter.

So you got fooled into buying early access for a poorly optimized and bugged product with a huge lack of content. Yet you are still here to deny the obvious.
Im not sure if you are a paid actor or just a white knight, maybe both.

I paid for this mess so I will critique it as I see fit.

Good night!

Exactly.

Prime example would be Elder Scrolls Online. It requires no sub whatsoever and the shop is FULL of booster items for crafting and transmogs/emotes/etc.

We really don’t want to aim for that.
