So how does a tank, healer etc learn these HC raids without going on them eh?
The environment gives extreme advantages to those that are elitist. Unfortunately
I think itâs everyoneâs right to abandon a group for what ever reason. Some people might lie and tell you their family is at the door and some might be more honest so they tell you they donât want to play with you anymore.
Some people behave in a very obnoxious way and therefore itâs understandable that they might cause someone to leave the group. Then complaining about people being âelitistsâ doesnât really make it better.
Thatâs why itâs important to make friends ingame. If you can make friends then there is also the option to do the opposite. Just remember who was being unfriendly/bad whatever and avoid this player in the future.
Yeah, I donât get some people.
If they wanted to rush through the heroics, they probably shouldnât be pugging lol.
There is a âread it upâ mantra going since forever. Players have to be fully prepared for everything including tactics just be done faster with weekly chore.
If i see that the tank is usless, or the heal - or the other two DDâs i gonna leave right after first wipe, too.
Has nothing to do with elitist but rather with less to no motivation to go 2h in a dungeon. The people which suck usualy come up with âelitistâ phrases but yea, i ainât have time for that.
The community is full of lots of selfish or inept people playing the game with elitist attitudes. The best one I had was being kicked for low dps on a boss where we wiped because the tank died and the boss killed all the top damage dealers on threat before the 2nd tank picked it up, they played for about 2-3mins more and then wiped.
So the guy kicked all the top dps from his run because at the end of the fight after the wipe they were bottom, completely oblivious to any reason why the wipe had happened. You have these kinda people who are entirely oblivious and will not look beyond the surface level at anything, so your group wipes to an honest mistake or poor luck and they leave, even if that honest mistake was their own and they are also oblivious to that.
Itâs also like the guys who blame the healers for not healing them when they are 100% the cause of the problem, putting a huge strain on the healer. I generally find good players know what they sign up for, are able to judge what is actually happening in game and will never leave a run that will be a clear success.
Blame league game and twitch for the eltist attitude, they can just go and suck a stone.
Itâs the retail kids/tourists, bored by their main game.
Found the PVE dad
Well, no.
Itâs everyone in general lmao.
I main a holy pala and it is sometimes a bit frustrating when I join some normal dungeons and the tank has less HP than me and gets squished easily. Some just donât know how to tank. Sometimes its the dps that go full ape mode on a mob that hasnât even been pulled yet.
Iâve never really been compelled to leave, I try to offer advice. Specially to the tanks since theyâre in high demand. Why arenât you doing the same? Not everyone is a sweaty tryhard who needs to be doing meta. Some people like to have fun in the gameâŚ
Sure sometimes they donât want to listen and /ignore you, oh well, at least I tried.
You donât just quit when things get hard, you try harder and get everyone in the group to pick up the slack.
Has gotten? Its been elitist since 2005.
Its interesting how your perspective might change with role.
Iâve not left a run in TBC so far - but as a healer Iâd echo that its frustrating trying to keep significantly undergeared/clueless tanks alive. If you are consistently losing 50-60%+ health from just brushing up against a pack of mobs⌠and I therefore have to spam heal to keep you up (and even that may occasionally fail) - you shouldnât be there. (Iâve also become more judgmental on people struggling to break 500 DPS - but being a healer Iâm not usually paying that much attention.)
The worst run I think I had was Shattered Halls (you all know where) - the tank died constantly. I have sympathy, its about as hard as it gets pre-raid, but still, this guy was clueless and started blaming me. The highlight was when we wiped but I soulstone-ressed. I proceed to res everyone but get the tank last (because heâs awkward to reach due to his insistence on face tanking where the mobs happen to be). With no mana left I then go to drink. The tank proceeds to charge straight back into the pack with his 10% health⌠and unsurprisingly instantly dies. Apparently that one was my fault tooâŚ
Eventually carrying these people drives you to the âguild runs or nahâ mentality thatâs been a feature of WoW since 2005.
There is a big difference between now and then my friend. The difference is: ITS OLD CONTENT.
WE HAVE YOUTUBE. You can look up all there is to it. You can actually prepare yourself. As a human you should always try to be the best you can be, and that means that you look up information. What is the best spec? What is the best gear? What is the best way to play the game?
If you donât like that, go play a game that is new and doesnât have that much information. All the experimenting in WoW has been done already. We know for a fact what is the best spec, gear, etc. The elitist dataminer basement dwellers made sure of that.
Is it the most fun? No. It isnât. Most fun was 14 years ago when the thing got released for the first time. You could actually be a retard and get away with it.
But keyboard turning? Come on. Itâs 2021 and we have 16k DPI laser mouses. Iâm not playing with people who boast a sub 100 IQ and try to tank a dungeon with the left hand and jerk themselves off with right hand.
1 mob in a normal dungeon in retail has more mechanics to it than a full raid in TBC. There is no excuse of not knowing how it works.
Edit: I know I sound like a total dick. But I want to add something here: I usually donât leave groups and offer help, but if they donât take it or donât talk back, I leave. Because guess what? Itâs also my time they are wasting. And my time is valuable to me. I donât have 12 hours per day to play, and I do like some progress. I donât want some idiot to waste my time. Itâs just who I am, and what a lot of people think as well. For a big part, the players who play this game now are the same kids who played this thing 14 years ago. Only now older, and wiser. Its just how it is.
Everyone whoâs worse than me is a low IQ looser and everyone whoâs better than me is an elitist, anti-social no lifer. Something like this xD
I wouldâve left that group the moment he started blaming me. And this is the reason I play with friends. I cba to deal with idiots like that. He just wasted your valuable time. Remember that when you meet a retard like that again.
fairly accurate.
I can be pretty elitist but I donât have the time to be a dedicated one. My solution is just play with friends. I can take retartedness (if thats a word) when it comes from my friends. Atleast we can laugh about it on discord.
if you have so many cases you that you have to leave a group chance is high something is wrong with you
if you dont play meta, min max or anything elite. you are not part of the community and they will consider you a rogue (I mean not the class technically) and a⌠or lefty player but thats not how I call.
lets call it renegade player instead but I am more proud to be a renegade player then to be a meta sheep âInsert the swear word hereâ while do I get shamed for playing my own way? in gehennas you do but thats for both factions in a way.
