Wow the community has gotten elitist

Just because you are unique doesn’t really make you useful.
You can play this game the way you want if you only do solo content.
If you want to play with other people then you can’t really do whatever you want because if other players don’t like it then they don’t want to play with you.

It’s an important step in the development of a child: learning how to play with other children. If you haven’t learned that by the age of 4 then you might have a lot of troubles in kindergarten and further social institutions.

If you don’t like minmax speedrun culture then it’s not tragic that those players don’t want you in their group. It’s a win/win for both.

I am raiding with a pvp spec and don’t have any problems.

you must be really lucky

Nah he has friends apparently, which many of you solo players that are complaining obviously lack.

Obviously I cba going into a dungeon with complete and utter noobs. If they suck I leave, it’s more efficient to form a new group than to spend 1h wiping on a freaking normal dungeon.

People leaving after one insult or one fail are kinda cringe but if one can see that your tank/healer are literal trashcans, why bother? I am not their friend, they are an online stranger who cant spend 15 min looking up a guide on how to gear and properly play their class. It has nothing to do with elitism but with valuing your freaking time.

Now for all you noobs crying elitism - get good or go home

Irony is we are all wasting our time by playing a computer game.

better than playing a phone game xD

well, there’s the whole gear progression being tied to it…

Hey there, twitch kid.

“twitch kid” cringe

This is because people who do heroics are literally only alts of people who cleared all content and dont care at all. You are kind of late. I had no problems with people leaving in any of our heroics even with multiple wipes and I play on your server. I assume if you want an experience like that again you have to wait for magisters terrace.

You kind tend to be cringe, indeed.

“Chore”? This is a game, not real life, if any part of it is a Chore, then seriously they need to revalue their life.

We were all seeing that kind of players throughout WoW history. It is just they want to be prepared for everything in advance, so efficiency is name of the game.
Myself, I like surprises, learning from mistakes and would really like if betas and ptrs dont exist. One can dream…

Can’t agree more with this. Had an experience today of a pug leader asking me to link gear for healing a mag/gruul run. To do this whilst at work I had to look for an older warcraft log as I’ve been tanking for my guild for a while. Unfortunately the log that had even remotely recent gear was an awful one due to me dying stupidly to a cleave early in a fight, but it was just to show gear so who cares I sent him it.

The guy wouldn’t take me because of that single log, didn’t look at any other logs, didn’t consider any context. So not only elitist but also an utter idiot.

You’d think this was mythic content we were playing in classic, I think people forget how simple these fights really are.

It’s pretty normal that a raidleader will check out players before inviting them. It’s their responsibility to ensure the rest of the group does not get screed by him inviting a random idiot.
It’s normal that you might get rejected by some people, even if you are qualified for the content.

Tbh an old fashioned review of gear is usually sufficient. If they’ve got all their tier set then they’ll likely have cleared content multiple times for example. Sure you may get the odd one who has purchased it but those are rare.

Checking logs or parses is stupid cause in most circumstances there is no context. For example if people have particular assignments.

Like some others have told you, try to find some friends and play with them. This game is riddled with people who believe they are the last coke in the desert because they read some kind of guide somewhere so they brainlessly smash the same two or three buttons over and over again in the order their holy guide said they had to smash them, even if they are completely clueless about how, where, why and when. These guys are usually very quick to point fingers to everyone when things go south because, you know, everyone can play flawlessly with everbody else’s toon, but they are even quicker to bring up a plethora of excuses when it is clear that they were the ones who screwed up.

I would take a bunch of “noobs” (as they are often called) who can actually listen and learn rather than any of these super-duper-self-proclaimed “pro player” who believes he has nothing to learn.

It’s part of the instant-gratification mindset people have now. People don’t care about the social aspect of the game anymore. I have 2 tanks, what I do with people like this just put them on your ignore list. Since I’m the one making the groups 9/10 it’s quite funny getting whispered by their alts why I put them on ignore xD. And then just explain they have to look for a tank that is like minded

It’s not even just a WoW problem.
Hell, it’s not even a Video Game problem.
There’s a LOT of toxic and or elitist people in the world. You’re bound to run into some of them in Game.
