I did say 5 hours farming not 5 hours total. Believe what you want of course.
Obviously crafting and putting items up for sale takes a few minutes each day, I also don’t do constant monitoring or AH play - that does require A LOT of time, but does pay off.
So does doing other activities but that’s just playing the game.
To give some examples, Jewelcrafting has been printing money through the entirety of the expansion, fishing daily has gotten me 2x The 2 Ring (did not do it every day), Shartuul has gotten me quite a few stuff to sell (stopped doing it many months ago). Just a few days ago I got a hot streak, Belt of Blasting was up at 700g with mats costing 400, decided to take a shot at it and sold 3 within 40 minutes with the 4th selling a few days after as prices dropped to 450 and I held on to it. Obviously if you go ahead and undercut other like mad, you’re gonna be poor forever.
Currently sitting on 40k gold, epic flying on 2 chars, 700 destro pots, 50 flasks, recently spent 10k for the Shen’dralar rep and Hero of Shattrath preparation, full epic gems on all gear, Belt of Blasting bought for 6k when t5 went live and other spedings through the expansion.
Bottom line, if you just afk in Shatt and think that the only way to make gold is farming, you’re very very very wrong.
I’m not doubting you, I’m just saying that videos (as it was brought up) of people rolling whatever on AH and making gold are mostly clickbaits. There’s more time, experience and knowledge behind that than simply “buying cheap, selling expensive” even tho thats the fundemental. Be sure that once a video of a “secret” way of making money hits, its already weeks too late.

Mate, you make valid points (as in, yea, it’s true that it requires effort and time) but in this discussion no-one ever said that trading is easy, effortless or quick. In his first post Necromon literally stated that it took him nearly a year (since launch) to get the money! And I was only replying to people saying it’s impossible to get that money without farming (like impossible at all).
As to the video I mentioned, I can recommend “flipping 1 gold to 10k on AH” series by NicB* that I spoke of earlier. He explains multiple times that he logs often, and spends much time browsing ah or looking for people with professions. He also clearly displays what he trades, and how much he pays for & earns on each item. I wouldn’t call it a clickbait video.
*No, he’s not my friend or anything, I just genuinely think he did great job with the series
