So I am moving my main to another server but i already have a toon with my mains name. If i purchase a wow token with gold, how do i go about using it for a name change??

You can buy a wow token with gold, then convert that to Blizzard balance. Then use the Blizzard balance for the character service.
I Want Game Time or Blizzard Balance
To purchase a WoW Token for game time or Blizzard Balance, select WoW Token while browsing the in-game Auction House. Once you click Buyout and confirm your purchase, your WoW Token will be mailed to you.
Note : Mail containing WoW Tokens will not expire.
After you’ve purchased a Token from the Auction House, right-click the item in your inventory to open the Redemption window. You can choose to redeem your Token for 30 days of Game Time or €13/£10 of Blizzard Balance.
Note : If you are at or near the Blizzard Balance cap, you cannot redeem a Token for Blizzard Balance.
If you’ve run out of game time but you have a Token in a character’s inventory, you’ll be able to consume that Token from the character select screen and refresh your game time on any WoW game account connected to your Blizzard account.
If your game time has expired and you can’t access your characters, you can purchase and consume a WoW Token directly from the character select screen. Each character on the selected realm will contribute gold to the price of buying the Token.
