Why am i only getting 8000 ingame gold for 20€ The wow token should be locked at 100000 gold minimum. The price to just get into many GDKPs is 10k and minbids are 10, even 20k now with TogC. Blizz expect us to buy tokens for 200€ every week to gear up??
Please raise the amount of gold now. 8000 is a joke and NOT worth 20€ irl money.

Price is fixed ti supply and demand.
If more players are selling them, then those buying them the price drops. If they increased the gold price, no one would buy them.
If you artifically make it harder, players will just go on retail, and buy subs through retail to then play classic lo
You wont sell em for 100k. No ones gonna go for it lol

If the gold from the token is too little, don’t buy the token, farm the gold in game.
Don’t tell anyone but Blizzard are price fixing the tokens. After they first came out they went to 18k, now Blizzard are stopping them going that high again by fiddling with the market.
It happened on retail too.

Imagine RMTing in an MMORPG…

Yes but base price for Token was fixed by Blizzard at pretty low point of around 8k. They really don’t want to win the war against illegal RMT that badly it seems considering that at it’s higher’s point it’s still twice as expensive.
As much as I loathe to say it… You don’t need to. RMT almost became integrated into the genre.
Yeah for the lazy people.
Not really. I wouldn’t call EVE online the game for lazy people but they’re very prominent when it comes to RMT with their own version of WoW Token. Then again that game revolves heavily around money and nothing is permanent. You die, you lose your ship, your items and possibly character upgrades if you’re forced to respawn. Money is tangible.
The issue here is in your mindset, that you need to buy gold with irl money in order to “play the game”. But I realise this is pretty much the status quo in 2023, unfortunately.

Oh please everyone will tell you that now in Wrath in order to catch up you will need to buy BoEs in AH to bolster your GS so that you can enter lower end GDKPs, get gold, bid on gear to enter better GDKPs etc, etc. Especially on more populated realms. And yet act surprised and “disgusted” that you’d consider RMT
The price is determined by supply & demand. The reason you only get 8k is because nobody is willing to buy the month of game time you sell for more then that.
Again yes but it’s Blizzard whose in control of limits how far it would get. The baseline price from which all corrections are made was I believe around 8500 Gold? And you wouldn’t go higher than that unless the demand was vastly outmatching the supply.
I personally think they have stopped it from falling to low right now actually instead of manipulating it not going high. With how much of a free fall the token prices were in soon after it hit its high point I wouldnt be surprised if it would have gone down to 4-5k by now but its just speculation on my part.
Why should Blizzard change anything about the current system? They make money from all the botting account subs and boosts. They can flex with high sub numbers towards their shareholders. The botted gold increases gdkp prices, which increasing the amount of tokens bought by players, who need to compete with said botted gold. The lower the gold value of tokens, the more tokens will players have to buy to compete.
Even adding heroic+/++ instead of RDF to sabotage the activity for entry content for intended gearing progression, helps to force players to buy boosts and join gdkps, further increasing the money they make.
Blizzard maximized their profits by allowing and actively enhancing RMT culture for pugging players. I cannot believe there are really people left, thinking Blizzard would do anything that reduces their profits at this point.

That is true, but tokens still don’t sell instantly from what I heard. That means the fact that there’s no upward pressure on the token price means people aren’t interested in buying the extra tokens for more. They also made the token significantly less useful by making it unredeemable to BNet balance. I bought a bunch of tokens when they first came out, and now I’m good on my sub for over a year. Since I can’t redeem them for balance, my demand is basically gone for tokens.
That really affects the price as well.

Yeah i guess that’s also a thing. I do still find it funny that you can essentially get sub almost 50% off through gold buying though.
Wrong game, this is the wrath classic forums and thats where the token is at around 8k

Or buy gold off 3rd party websites!.. oh wait… we shouldn’t do that.

What do you mean almost? RMT Real Money Trading.
You buy the token, with real money to get in-game gold.
So… It’s RMT. Just “Blizzard endorsed”.

Have you considered just … farming your gold?
I’ve done multiple world tours on 5 chars and I am rich now from selling crusader orbs, 13 x 5 : 3 = 21 x 1000 =
If you were smart you farmed titanium ore and hoarded it for this patch, I’m swimming in gold from selling epic gems.
Literally no need to buy a WoW token for $$$
