According to the WineHQ site Warcraft is one of their gold applications, meaning it runs without difficulty. I’m trying to run it on a Zorin-based system with the latest version of Wine. When I try to start up WoW it just crashes with an internal error.
Is this a problem with my system, am I doing something wrong or what?

I would suggest that you reach out to WineHQ’s customer support, as supporting other people’s programs falls outside of the scope of either technical or customer support.

While, as Trovlak points out, we don’t support Wine (we don’t support Linux at all, actually), there’s this other recent thread about issues in Linux with some ideas from other players that you may be able to try:
Easy solution: Play WoW via Lutris. If there are issues, check the Lutris wiki for clues.
