WoW vs GW2

I just watched a video on GW2’s new housing system coming with the new expansion and I just don’t understand how can Blizzard be so behind on some things. It took Blizzard years to make things account bound. How can other MMOs do things much faster than Blizzard?

Is it a Blizzard’s strategy to delay quality improvements as much as they can?

I am irritated yes

they tried housing with garrisons, everyone HATED it for some reason and they never looked back.

housing is imo waste of time.

This all depends on what you view as a quality improvement.
For me personally Housing is irrelevant so it doesnt matter to me at all.
For others new mogs might be important or pets etc.
They need to put things in the game that are going to be important to the largest % of players. Its probably not an easy decision to make when people are calling for all differnt kinds of things.

Why are people so obsessed with housing system? I honestly feel like it would be an enormous waste of resources that would cater vocal forum minority. idk

Gw2 was a good game before devs added bunch of useless and weird mechanics

gw2 is still a good game, but the lack of measureable progression isnt for me.

They’re not behind, they figured people would spend more time in game if they had to do the same thing multiple times.
More time in game = more time subbed = more $$$

GW2 had a full account bound system on its release back in 2012 and it got better since then. In 2024 Blizzard will have that for the reputations but only for the new expansion. I mean WTF. Took them 12 years to make the banks account bound…

With pineapple?? its got to have pineapple on it…

Housing should be a fun side activity with zero ties to the game beyond a cosmetic addition, unlike the Garrison that was a central focus of WoD that locked progress and what not, and the fact it grossly inflated gold [20k in MoP became 300k in WoD].

That, and the horrible start of the expansion where no one could play the game on release day because of phasing issues - literally couldn’t even start with WoD with everyone just seeing an empty area.

Because GW2 devs care if their players are having fun playing the offered content - whereas WoW devs care if their players are good.

The game with the biggest number of players is the better game.
WoW costs 13€/month and it has lore more players than GW2 which is playable for free.

Clearly WoW does not need to copy GW2.

objectively yes, subjectively no.

i like gw2 too aswell but i play wow more and if i had to choose i would choose wow.

That is wrong. It is like saying Diablo is better than PoE because it has more players. Which is wrong. Popularity of something doesn’t make the game good by default.

True. Since Horde’s and Alliance’s garrisons was bad taste place for players.
Reason we cant choose place what we wanted.

Like I would put my hunter housing in jungle/azeroth.
No travel-time in Draenor. It’s ugly place

WoW literally 4 expansion in a row

  • 3 Raids Per expansion ( Was Bfa/Leg that had that 1 x more )
  • 8 Dungeons per Expansion (Feel Bored Yet )
  • 4 Seasons Where Everything Scale to 40+ilvl -Redo Everything
  • Professions System with no progress through the expansions
  • Classes-Spec outdated (Playing as a Hunter feels like i’m playin in Tbc…same rotation nothing added and at some point every expansion they remove something just to add 2 expansions after.

As the end WoW has enter a circle with every new expansion you wait to do the same thing. Is like someone in charge of the game that don’t bring nothing new

Blizzard sometimes gets very stuck in it’s ways, because of something they decided years ago, like with account wide approach.

I never thought we’d see but it’s a welcome change that has been well received by the community.

I would love to see WoW Player housing. Garrisons really didn’t work in that sense. You didn’t even have a bedroom. The buildings were more functions of the expansions than a home.

I find account bound items, achievements, bank, outfits, reputation as an improvement. GW2 had all this 12 years ago. Why did it took Blizzard so much time to add it to WoW?
What about all the UI changes in DF? Why are they doing such things so late??? Just look at FF14. Not a new game by any means.
