wondering how is it even possible to have unexpected downtime nowadays. seriously, as a professional enterprise devops engineer, i can’t possibly imagine how the hell does it happen unless meteor wipes whole continent.

I cannot comprehend how is this even possible… this is atleast 4th or 5th time this is happening since release last year that I personally exprerienced (may have been even more). What do we pay for and where is the compresation for the mess we as customers have to endure so often?

Anything you like can go on a pizza. If I’ll eat it then is the other question. 
even if… this is getting more absurd the more i’m thinking about it. i don’t know crap about their infrastructure, but just for the sake of argument, let’s assume they are running everything in their own data centres (for legacy reasons, presumably) with no redundant solutions of any kind in place (pretty much worst case scenario, for all intents and purposes). so, even if that would be the case, implementing some kind of backup solution running on public clouds in case of emergency costs virtually nothing and is easy to do. this is incomprehensible amount of incompetence and/or greediness we are seeing over here.

I’ve seen crazy things running on old programmes and made so complicated that it was not compatible with anything new. I could imagine Blizzard did the same with the game code.
I wonder if anyone really understands how complicated the science behind a game like WoW is? Of course there will be crashes. Dumb ducks.
