WOW51900319 - Disconnected while walking

Hello,
I’m having some issues since last week with Classic.
So, after I walk for about half a minute, I get disconnected showing the error from the subject. I can remain standing and I won’t get disconnected until I am kicked for AFK. I have tried all of the steps from “World of Warcraft Disconnection Problems” Article, but nothing helped. I have also tried lowering the max FPS rate for both background and foreground, but that didn’t help as well.
I doubt it’s a connection issue since everything was working fine up until 29.9. Since then, I have had this problem every time I logged in.
I’m also not sure if there was anything specific I did that day that might have caused this.
I have tried creating a ticket for this, but I couldn’t click submit on your form. I have performed the MTR tests for all three hosts, but I don’t know where you could view them.

Please feel free to just post the MTR results right here in the forum - they should allow us to determine if there are any undue delays/losses in the route between your location and our servers that might explain these connection issues.

Were those logs created while connection issues were visible in the game? I am asking because the recorded results are actually nearly flawless - as far as the test data indicates your connection basically couldn’t be any better.

Of course, not every possible connection problem will show in a test like this. There a number of potential issues that’d be invisible to the testing process, so there is always a chance that the results may be misleading. For these cases it is usually the best approach to work with a method of exclusion - change one thing at a time, and see when/if something improves.

Possible variables that could be changed include your router (maybe a friendly neighbour will let you tap into their WIFI for a test, or you could set up a tether/hotspot on a mobile phone?) or even your location (if your computer is a portable model). Improvements as a result of such changes would typically indicate a problem with your own router/line, which your internet service company would certainly be interested to hear about.

Alternatively, if you feel up to the challenge you could also try installing a VPN and see if matters improve then - if they do that’d pretty much confirm a problem with your routers or internet service companies handling of game data, which they would hopefully be able to fix for you.

Yeah, it was recorded during the issues. The point is that there is no lag or anything and I will be able to be in the game by just standing. If I start to move, this error occurs. It doesn’t seem like my internet connection is causing this issue.

I will try tethering, but now, the game is working as it should be. I’ve had 10+ disconnects in a row and then I left the character to get into AFK mode (haven’t changed any of the settings nor have I restarted my PC). After that I could play normally. I can reply here if this occurs again, but I doubt it has something to do with my ISP/internet connection.

Sorry to hear that you are disconnecting while you are walking in wow. That’s quite specific and it’s got me thinking.

I’m wondering if you are walking using a keyboard. A keyboard which has a repeat-key feature could be sending so many inputs that it’s causing your client to disconnect. This won’t be the case if it happens while moving using your mouse or auto-running. These are good ways to test if you are uncertain if your keyboard has this feature.

Along with this, I would also consider resetting your games UI to the game defaults to see if the issue persists.

In most cases, disconnections are connection related in some capacity but I do hope that these other options do help.
