WowBrowserProxy.exe crashes when you click Help menu in game solution

  • Open Windows Firewall Settings. Add a new exception for WowBrowserProxy.exe or verify the current one is correct.

  • Check the ‘UTILS’ folder in the World of Warcraft directory. Make sure it contains subfolders named cache and cookies. (example path ..\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Utils\cookies\)

  • Open battle net. Right click the icon on your taskbar and select Pin to taskbar if it’s not pinned already.

  • Close the battle net client completely and wait a minute.

  • Hold Shift and right click the battle net icon on the taskbar.

  • Select run as Administrator.

  • Run the Repair Tool from the Options drop down menu near the top of the launcher.

  • Take a bath. Optional.

  • Once complete, run the game. Verify the Help issue is fixed.

  • Exit game and battle net client. You wont have to perform this process again.

Having recently re-installed wow from scratch this seems to be an error in the install process. There is some failure when creating the folders correctly and/or the firewall rule creation is required and not implemented.
