Blizzard End User License Agreement points out this
Blizzard’s Ownership
All data and communications generated by, or occurring through, the Platform

What Blizzard is aganist
License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following: Data Mining: Use any unauthorized process or software that intercepts, collects, reads, or “mines” information generated or stored by the Platform; provided, however, that Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third-party user interfaces.

So once TSM’s desktop application used to refresh Auction Data from their server, they also get our information as well. They store it in their servers located in United States or Canada, not even in EU according to their Privacy Policy. It’s also aganist rules but Blizzard might allow if they want according to their End User License Agreement. They are selling in game information such as Black Market Auctions or Blizzard’s free Auction House API related information for premium.
Ofcourse it’s up to Blizzard but I won’t share a single information for an ingame add-on.

This is what TSM premium offers:-

I’ve used the free desktop app in the past on Classic but it’s way beyond what I need and I prefer a simpler auction house addon that is all just based in game. They rely on me scanning the AH myself which can take some time.

You kind of lost me with the whole data breach stuff. In order to access Blizzards API you apply for a licence. They can revoke that if they feel you are breaking their terms and conditions.

Undermine exchange as an example, they get data from Blizzard API, it’s raw data, you need a little bit work, Blizzard provides it every 1 hour. It’s everything in the Auction House, every item. For example I want to buy something such as Spectral Tiger, write a code that sends you a notification once it’s appeared. You get online and buy it from Auction House without looking it in every realm.

This is one of premium perks of TSM

  • In addition to the free realm-specific email and web notifications we offer, premium users will enjoy unlimited region-wide notificiations!

Blizzard is not charging for having an access to Blizzard’s API. It’s free. Also it’s not fair to other players who don’t use it, possibly %99 of wow community don’t even know about it. It feels wrong.

I don’t know what TSM desktop application collects but their servers are not in EU. Ofcourse I’m not a legal expert or expert in coding so I prefer not to use TSM desktop application

So they aren’t storing the data it’s just the API presented as data in an addon/site.

That’s how they all work.

TSM desktop application does. It’s also part of the addon itself.

it´s so cute seeing players fighting over things they can never control.

goes back into hiding

The desktop app does not store anything as far as I’m aware, any more than any of the other desktop apps do. They just put the API into a visual format and/or pass it on to the in game app.

They aren’t stealing any data or doing anything nefarious.
