WoWhead or Icy Veins?

Which one has better guides to everything or anything in your opinion?

Really depends on who writes the articles and guides.

Icyveins rarely get updates. I prefer WoWhead.
But the absolute best place, are your class discord.

Wowhead has everything and is and has always been my go to source. I have checked IcyVeins like once or twice and was not really impressed.

WoWhead tends to write plenty of nonsense articles. Good to look up info about an item or mob, but too opiniated in their articles/guides.

It depends on who their writers are. Many are written by the same people that run the discords, others are independent high end players.

It also depends how often the update their guides.

Wowhead now

Wowhead.

Wowhead is a database for looking up droprates and news and stuff and icyveins was just the place you fetched the latest top tier build, so it used to be icyveins. But nowadays there are other sites like murlok io that i found way better that just scrape the ladder of raids, m+, pvp, and give you breakdowns of the top players of any end game path

Like the whole Ruby Whelp Shell thing.
Yeah no, it’s not secretly BiS. It’s garbage.

Why not both and make your own mind up? I use them both and then see which suits me best.

For PvP guides I trust Icyveins more than Wowhead.

Interesting, I’ll give it a look!

For PVE I like sites like

For seeing what others are using in M+/Raiding

Same here, check them both out and then decide :+1:

Icy Veins, because i got used to.
Also i dont read Guides, just check which Talents they reccomend.

I mainly use Wowhead for everything.
But I did have to go to Icyveins the other day coz I was looking for a dragon racing map and weirdly Wowhead just didnt have one.

Its proving a pain to find a rare map on any site though. Either you just get co-ordinates (I dont use addons) or its a super rare map.
Anybody knows of a site that has maps of all the rares please let me know!!

So you say… But if it procs 3000 crit rating, every minute ones you have it trained for that, or the ST damage…

Simple fact, we don’t know for sure, because we didn’t know you had to “train” the trinket.
The data we have available right now indicates it could be really strong… But we need more data to be sure.

Depends on the author of said guides.
If all you want is the build, then i’d go to RIO or Warcraftlogs to copy the builds from there.

I read both but prefer Icyveins’ simplicity. Whether I follow one or the other it gives me a good idea on what to do, albeit IV drops updates much later and tends to be more incorrect or repetitive than WoWhead.

Wowhead for news, guides on how to get stuff like secret mounts, hints in the comments sections for broken WQs, spawn intervals for rares etc, details of the best mobs to kill for getting certain consumables to drops, where to find NPCs on the map, approx. drop rates for mounts, and so forth.

Icy Veins for talents when levelling a new alt for a class and / or spec I’ve not played before. Also for info on recommended borrowed powers when they’re a thing.

Dataforazeroth for a list of all the mounts to collect, which ones I haven’t got yet and where they come from.

SimpleArmory for plotting the most efficient way of farming those old mounts.

Oribos.exchange for AH prices.

Raidbots for simming.
