Wow's leveling experience

This. A thousand times this.

I know with absolute certainty that I would not have finished levelling my first characters (I levelled two together) if the current scaling had been in place back then.

Scaling makes everything pointless.

“Scaling” itself isn’t inherently bad, I don’t think, but the way the game goes about it is absolutely god awful.

I like the idea of scaling because it allows Veteran wow players to play with their newbie friends, guide them through dungeons etc, without needing to make another alt, but in execution, sometimes your newbie friend has more player power in that instance than you do with your decked out legendaries etc.

However in terms of new content? yeah scaling absolutely ruins it.
If I’m too weak for a zone, I wanna find out myself I’m too weak for it, but if you want the challenge of entering that zone or fighting those enemies, you really have to think about what you’re doing, which abilities do what etc.

Hard trash in the world is vital in teaching people how to play the game.
can’t remember the last time I really had to take note of enemy patrols while doing world content.

I think after peveling in new exp with 3 chars they should allow us to level in chromie time 1-level cap, capped a lot of chars in sl but after few times its extremaly boring for last 10 levels so i still have 20 chars on ~50

Agreed.
I think if they let me use chromie time to level cap and actually read quest text etc I’d be more inclined to enjoy the leveling process.
I’d love to level through pandaria or northrend, but I feel currently, given I’d be ripped away from it at level 50, I’m not there for the story, I’m there for EXP, and if I’m only there for EXP, I may aswell go to WoD or Legion… again…

Scaling 100% is an issue.

I think chromie time either needs to be set so you complete an entire xpacs storyline so make it immersive and this gets you to max level (appreciate this would be a lot of work)

Or they just set zones at certain levels and let you choose across the board. Would be less immersive as you might start in say durotar jump to borean then into stv the across to val’sharar or something. So a mix to pre chromie and chromie levelling with each area being a set level range.

The final one would be to overhaul the levelling completely however, this would result in extinct content exactly the opposite they tried with chromie
