WoW's marvelous music

WoW’s music has some of the most recognizable tracks in video game history without doubt, although some people do not often pay much attention to them, despite that it’s always there (if it’s on). So let’s take a moment to appreciate the music in WoW!

I have always loved how the composers have been as original as they are with their work, and how they have adapted to make the music suit the settings in different areas and themed it for the various expansions. For example Russel Brower used traditional Asian instruments to create many of the soundtracks for Mists of Pandaria, the expansion which still has my favorite music tracks to this day. Another example is that old Scandinavian instruments was also used in Wrath of the Lich King’s music, and I love it- because it captures the atmosphere of just Scandinavia perfectly (is Scandinavian myself).

Summed up I think that WoW’s music is above excellent and I really hope that it continues this way for let’s hope many many, years to come.

What’s your opinion of the music in WoW? What do you like about it the most?

Couldn’t agree more

Everytime you portal into an old zone and the music starts up, all those old memories of playing in that content just come flying back!

If there’s one thing all expansions have done right, it’s got to be music.

My favorite one is Lake Wintergrasp, oh the feels :musical_note:

they’re all super good esp the new patch absolutely amazing honestly I can’t actually pick a fav but some that come off the mind are the pirate tavern music it’s amazing how nice of a mood it gives off and really immerses you into it’s theme  alongside Seasons of War god I love that one too OH AND Light in the Darkness but again all of them are amazing and very underrated I would say there’s CERTAIN GAMES that have such overrated trash music while WoW never gets any praise for it’s awesomeness in that regard quite unfortunate BUT THERE’S DEFINITELY PEOPLE THAT APPRECIATE THEM BLIZZARD SO GOOD JOB FOR THAT AT LEAST

I’ve always loved the Orgrimmar music it’s just so fitting for the horde clans coming together in their capital.

I’d agree with the OP some of the music used in WoTLK and going into Howling Fjord for the first time was fantastic to behold.

The music never disappoints and can make me feel quite nostalgic when I go back to older zones.

I remember this being asked on a Q&A at BlizzCon 2019: One of my favourite things in the WoW collector’s editions is the OST. Sadly the music on the OST is only the X.0 music. But for the big content Patches X.1, X.2 and X.3 there are always lot’s of epic new tracks that could be offered as downloadable soundtracks as well. Please consider this!

The music is what keeps me connected to this game.

Good evening !

The music is not even a 10/10 it is more than that. There is no expansion that had bad music. It was always spot on (northrend, pandaland etc.). I listen the songs in my car driving. If I have to choose my favorite I couldn’t, but the most listened to so far is Azuremyst Isle. The duduk playing is like a mix of sadness with hope… i cannot describe the song in words.
I pray they keep up the same good work and deliver masterpiece music in the future.

Cheers and have a great evening everyone !

Credit where it’s due. The music in BFA was good. But the music is always good anyway.
