WoW's Next Class or New Specs - What do you want to roleplay?

WoW has a wide variety of classes. If they could add just one more, what would you want to play as?

What do you think would be interesting, thematically or mechanically, to embody?

Tinkerer, at most, for my personal choice.

Beyond that, its kinda pushing it with what we currently have. If anything, it would be easier to add another spec to various classes than to make a whole new class.

Since warriors and rogues can equip ranged weapons they can’t use, I think I’d like extra specs for them.

Perhaps a Gladiator-type spec (polearm, shield and bow) for Warrior, and a Ninjutsu Archer class for Rogue that’d be different from hunter in that they’d be more of a roving blade-ranger type character. More Aragorn than Legolas.

I just want to see more specs like they bring to the evoker (Augmentation). I’m not really fan to add an other class to the game when they suffer to balance them.

But, lore-wise, i think i want a Bard or a Tinkerer. It would be pretty good to add these monuments of the DnD class.

Yeah I’m gonna stick on the new spec train:

  • Holy-themed DPS spec for priest (Disc doesn’t count IMO)
  • Any new spec for Demon Hunter (C’mon Blizz)

Granted these wouldn’t really do much for RPers I don’t think, plenty of Light RPers will use offensive magic and plenty of DHs go beyond the OOC limitations of their class but still.

I think I’d enjoy a Summoner type class, conjuring magical creatures to do your bidding in combat and controlling them similar to the hunter beastmaster between throwing ranged spells. Probably could just be a magely reskin of that class, in fact.

A bard class could also be fun, and being able to carry and wield different instruments would be cool for roleplay visuals too.

I would like to see a bow/ranged weapon based spec for Demon Hunters. It should exist in the mid-range that Evokers play in.

I just want to be a necromancer somehow, if anything. Plate using necromancer…

I’m on the tinkerer train.
I’d love for the tank spec in particular to be based around a big fat mech suit, maybe even with an emergency eject mechanic at low health.

With that I feel like classes would be well covered, but for specs I wish we had a tank spec and a support spec for shamans.

Blizzard already struggles to juggle so many classes and specs, they really shouldn’t have added anything after monks. If anything I’d rather see them rework the least popular specs or the ones they struggle to balance instead of adding new ones. We honestly should have gotten a few 4th specs to some classes instead of Evoker (and that awful support spec experiment) such as tank shaman etc

I’d personally like to see Outlaw for rogues changed into a ranged spec because I detested that thing ever since it came out. Blizzard making one of the hero talents for it being all about flip the coin memery was icing on the cake.

I also wish classes got as much attention as shaman lately have, or druids when it comes to all the different customisation stuff they get. Monks being stuck with the same visuals and animations since they were added is just tragic.

As former City of Villains Mastermind enjoyer, I approve this message.

Seeing it mentioned, I’m a bit split on a Tinkerer or a Gunslinger. Tinkerer would be cool for the gadgets and having a bit more of that ā€˜being an Engineer’ feeling outside of the what little the crafting profession can provide.

With Gunslinger I feel like it would in away be the ā€˜natural’ progression of Outlaw Rogues seeing as a few of their talents are referring to such things already like ā€œFan the Hammerā€, ā€œCrackshotā€ and ā€œQuick Drawā€. That’s partially besides the point. What I would want to see is more Wild West style outlaws, and to occasionally RP as one. Or maybe the anti-hero style drifter

If we’re going for class I feel like Tinker - a mail wearing class with:

  • A tank spec revolving around having a mech suit
  • A healer spec revolving around potions and gadgets
  • A ranged dps spec where you shoot people with a gun or crossbow.

Playable by Gnomes, Dwarves, Draenei and Earthen on Alliance and Goblins, Belves, Undead and Earthen on Horde.

If we’re adding specs to existing classes I’d like:
A warlock spec where you turn into a demon and drain tank.
A ranged rogue spec where you shoot people with guns/bows/crossbows.

One of the spec i loved to play on FFXIV when i try it was a summoner (or something like that). It was really nice to play even if I still thought the most problem of FFXIV is the slowness of the combat.

Maybe just with actual permanent pets and not in its current state. Oh lord what they did to Blastbones was criminal.

personally im a Tinker wanter myself because I love gadgets and gizmos. They prove fun to play with Machnists in XIV and Engineers in GW2. Give me something between them.

Honestly.

I don’t want more classes. Not until they fix the current ones and find direction to all of them.

if we get a new class I hope its a Blood mage, with blood magic.

I would like to see a pet tanking spec for hunter or warlock.
maybe a ranged spec for paladin, rogue and warrior.
