this damn thing keeps sticking on my system. I close wow, but it is still playing. when i close it, this should close. I should not be seeing this still running in my task manager.
I don’t even use voice chat in wow, I shouldn’t have to have this running anyway.
it interferes with other processes, for example, it tells steam that wow is still playing so my screenshot uploader doesn’t appear. it tells my system it’s still running so when I try to shut down, it prevents my system shutting down.
can you guys fix this stupid little program or give me an option to not have it run alongside the game?

This has been a problem for a very long time. Only way to prevent voice proxy from eating up your CPU time is to rename/delete executable from Utils folder before launching the game, but after a while Battle.net will download it back to Utils.
I have a screenshot of 8x WoW Voice Proxy running my PC, each taking 9,9% of CPU time. Was wondering why WoW felt so laggy…
This is very frustrating! Please Blizzard, fix this!
I’m sure you can disable this in parental settings?
I would imagine this would also disable other communication functions?
This is from US WoW Classic Bug Reports on Voice Proxy:
what’s even more annoying is you might go to the extent of turning on Parental Controls to try and stop WoW Voice in any capacity but it won’t matter the game still runs this .exe in the background
So, yeah… this sucks
