Wrathion or Sabellian?

I chose Wrathion, but I feel like they will rule together as lovers

Which ever gives more awesome transmogs, but essentially both to max. Even tho I don’t always appreciate Wrathion’s arrogant attitude, I chose to support him first because beauty before old judgmental geezers. I’m an old judgmental assuming geezer myself so I feel I’m qualified to make this choice.

Sabellian is the new Varian that wow need, but will never see. whelps got no place in leadership or caretaking.

Without reading everything here…

I dare say it’s either Abyssian or none of the three.

That is for several Reasons:

  1. If they would choose Wrathion or Sabellian, the other camp would go mad. Players and black Dragons alike, since Blizz gave them the opt to decide and in the end the decision would be ignored for a lot of players.

  2. When the troubles started to escalate with Razagath only the new wannabe Leaders of the Black flight where not there to try stop her. Instead they preferred to continue their contest for the throne.

  3. And this is I think the most interesting part: Abyssian is really leaking an appearance until now.
I think, and please correct me here, but since we ventured to the dragon isles he was not seen at all. That, the fact that some indicators are pointing towards an underground zone for the next update leads me to thinking maybe he is already at something a little futher ahead then his 2 brothers.

Let me talk a bit more about the chances and possibility in the upcoming underground of the dragon isles, although I’m also curiors what is in the zone north-west of the emerald dream island, because come on, there will be something there for sure

If we think about “underground” and “dragons” the first thing that comes to mind are the blacks. Also: If I understood that right, Neltharion was corrupted when he decided to listen to the whispers of the old Gods in his fight against the elemental protodrakes. So IF there are any uncorrupted Eggs left, the most probable location would be on the dragon isles, probably somewhere underground.

And now Abyssian comes back into View. He is, at the moment, the only black drake totally free of the corruption of the old gods. While Wrathions freeness of the Madness of the old Gods can be could be discussed, some of his past actions where close to madness in my eyes J, Sabellian was involved and affected when he was still with Deathwing.

Abyssian on the other hand is free of this. Since he is currently lost, I don’t think its to hard to image that he ventured into the depths, because of some calling or something similar. There he could have found an entire nest that his father left behind BEFORE he became corrupted. While Deathwing could have destroyed any uncorrupted eggs left on Azeroth after becoming corrupted entirely, and also did so if we remember the Abyssian story, he should have been unable to do so on the Dragon isles. I’m also not that sure where Sabellian found the eggs that he gave to Alextraza, potentially they could be corrupted as well. Maybe not as bad as their forefather Deathwing, because Sabellian and his gang where not in Azeroth for quiet some time and thus could have recovered somewhat from the mad influence.

If there are any eggs in the depths on the other hand, they would have a good chance to be clear of any mad influence.

The part with the depths also opens up a fourth possibility, that I don’t think would be such a bad idea, since there are some concerns about Abyssian suddenly becoming the leader of some underground drakes he never met before, if there ARE Black Dragons underground, they could have a leader of their own. This dragon could then potentially easily become the next black dragon aspect, at least from a democratic view on thing. We don’t know how many of this potential black dragons are down there, but I would guess probably more then the few henchmen of Sabellian and Wrathion

---- EDIT ----
If I think this a bit futher…
Maybe the leader of the underground drakes is a female dragon…
She could then use the potential of all of here tree brothers to the advantage of her flight, and that with more or less ease. She could become the next Alextraza, because I do have a slight feeling she might not survive this expansion…
Wrathion as good contancts to many parties in the upper world of Azeroth, Abyssian is diplomatic and as for Sabelian… he could potential also be a good adviser of some sorts.

Of course it will be Wrathion, loading screen already tells everything.

And we all know that Sabellian will have a tragic death some time in the story, and entrust Wrathion with Black dragon leadership. So everyone is happy.

That is always how wow story goes.

The steamy rivalry between two male dragons. I will not be surprised if in the end they end up both ruling the citadel. I like Sabellian though.

Didn’t Wrathion try and destroy the alliance by supporting Garrosh ? Then realised woops no

Then suppported the Alliance hoping they would destroy the Horde, but King V got soft
Then tried that little stunt with Garrosh and the Iron Horde, conquer Azeroth to “unite” it
It wasn’t a surprise it not worked…
Caused WoD, then Legion, BfA and by extension that cursed Shadowlands
Wrathion should be executed for the crimes against Azeroth

And Ysera is there because…?

Because nobody knows who Merithra is (heck I even had to google her name and I’ve done the quests)… at least we knew who Sabellian was before.

We both know this is a weak argument
Loading screens means nohing
BfA, Legion, Shadowlands, just to name the lasts… were not really accurate

To be honest this whole obsidian citadel grind feels incomplete

We grind 10 keys and wrathion spawns a spider
We grind 10 more keys and Sabellion spawns a dragon

Kinda rushed filler content that makes no sense

I grinded exalted with both and i still fail to understand how i contributed to each ascending to the throne

funny…I kinda think the same about Sabellian!LOL

He just rocks up after being missing for many years and I cant help feeling like the other shoe has yet to drop, it feels like his story is missing a ‘part 2’ so Im reserving judgement on him.
Wrathion is probably too young for the job but I cant help loving his attitude (character flaws are always more interesting from a story telling pov!).

Although you would think the others would be more concerned about what is going on with the black flight though. I mean if they need all the aspects restored for their big fight shouldnt they be worried that they dont even have a black aspect!?

Sabellian is an OG and if he’s going to betray us and become a badass, then he’s getting my vote. His old man was awesome and the apple does not fall far from the tree in most cases.

I think there is the lingering theory, Blizzard not yet decided (press X to doubt) and gather the information, how many support Sabellian during the “event” and how many Wrathion
Obviously it is not really true, can’t be

Not to mention, there is the problem of the Embrace
The Embrace is an extraordinary celestial event when Azeroth’s two moons — the White Lady and Blue Child — are in an extremely rare conjunction, happening approximately once every four hundred and thirty years.
As the blue dragonflight debated how to appoint a new Aspect of Magic to replace Malygos, one popular theory espoused that this celestial event was important to that task. Some felt it was crucial to the proper working of the magic necessary to facilitate the alteration of a normal blue dragon into an Aspect. Others simply deemed it good timing. Arygos argued that the ability to become an Aspect may be in the blood
It turned out that neither bloodline nor intellect was important to the process. During the following Embrace, Arygos acted with brashness and arrogance, while Kalecgos simply beheld the beauty of the Embrace with the other dragons. The wonderment of the Embrace came from grace and rarity rather than the offering of dominance or power. Its light shown down on those gathered at the Nexus, causing them to glow with magic. As the radiance faded from them, it intensified around Kalecgos, bestowing him with the powers of an Aspect.
Kalecgos became an Aspect by… well we don’t know how, but not how Malygos was empowered
:person_shrugging:
And the Embrace was never mentioned again

According to legends, when the Aspects were first created, the moons had been in a rare conjunction known as the Embrace. A repeat of this same alignment was crucial to the proper working of the magic necessary to turn a normal dragon into an Aspect.
It is impossible to select a new Aspect or even try to call a new one, as long as the current one lives

How will a Black Dragon became a Black Aspect? Really good question
Do we have to wait the next Embrace? Or Elune will move the sky like Khonsu in Moonknight?
If it needs the other Dragons’s “vote” or help? Then Wrathion is already lost, since Sabellian protected and saved the Flight while Wrathion killed them
If not needed? Then Wrathion would already done it I think
The whole Black Aspect thing is a bit fishy at this point

Because he saving black flight after what Wrathion did …He literally made a army while Wrathion f…up alliance and made on his own egoistic quests + Wrathion soberish ego made him try to steal Nzoth power only for himself, Wrathion is in compare with real black drakes born from corrupted egg by experiments.

well, he says he is saving the black flight and he shows up with a bunch of dragons who are devoted to him and back his cause (much like the Drakthyr backed Neltharion and were devoted to his cause)…

I gotta say that was quite beautiful to read
It Makes you sad to see how lore got dumbed down to creating aspects by grinding ‘keys’

Like… what? Keys !

In Blizzard’s deffense, probably the key grind is nothing to do with it
We don’t exactly know the timeframe of Dragonflight
Days, months?
How much time passed/will pass from one event to another?
It is possible, the whole decide who you support “canonically” just one decision, and the whole grind just represents how the Black Dragons clear out their ancient home and kick the djaradin forces out in a few days/weeks and stomp that little doomsdays cult in their backyard, while Tyr reborn and possibly help to ascend - after all, it was Tyr’s idea to make dragon aspects in the first place and helped the whole process (and had a mad scientist streak in him ,but no spoilers) - one of the candidates

That’s what everyone thinks
But a plot twist would be cool
And the Wrathion character emerging as the bad guy after secretly absorbing dark powers from N’zoth

imagine Neltharion comin from the past to rule black dragons!
