Hello Blizzard Support & WoW Community,
I am reaching out because my World of Warcraft Classic account (-edited-) was permanently banned, and I strongly believe this was a false positive.
I received a ban for “violating the Terms of Use”, but I have never used cheats, bots, or automation software. I have spent significant time manually farming gold, raiding, and playing within the rules.
Context:
Over a year ago, I made a mistake and accepted my punishment (6-month suspension). Since then, I have been extremely careful to only play fairly and follow all Blizzard rules.
I did receive a 14-day ban for gold buying on my first character when I returned from a break. I acknowledge that mistake and have never repeated it.
Like many players, I initially bought gold to ease the leveling experience, but since then, I have been too scared to risk anything and have only farmed gold manually.
I have been on sick leave from work, which has finally given me the chance to enjoy gaming again, something I haven’t been able to do for a long time.
Farming gold in WoW Classic is what I love doing, and I would never risk my account by breaking the rules.
What Happened Recently:
A few days ago, I was semi-AFK farming in Winterspring while watching a stream.
Another player mistakenly assumed I was a bot and reported me, then later mentioned he would try to retract the report.
Shortly after, my account was permanently banned.
I have NEVER botted or used automation. I simply enjoy chill gold farming while watching streams (Asmongold or others), something I’ve always loved in WoW.
Concerns & Request for Review:
Was this ban triggered by mass reports? If so, I ask for a manual review of my logs to confirm my playstyle.
Were my transactions with my alt misinterpreted? I have an unused Horde-side alt (level 51 orc shaman) on the account I’m writing from, to which I sent gold a few times through the Auction House. This was simply me moving gold between my characters, not RMT.
Has my past mistake unfairly flagged my account? Since my previous infractions were over a year ago, I fear that my account may now be auto-flagged for any reports, regardless of actual evidence.
I have submitted an appeal, but it was instantly denied with a generic response. I kindly request a senior GM or Blizzard’s anti-hack team to manually review my logs before this decision is final.
Why This Makes No Sense:
This is my main account, and I’ve had it for 10-16 years.
I have multiple high-level characters across Classic and Retail (including 5x level 80s on Retail, a stacked Classic Era warrior, and my main Paladin on Spineshatter Anniversary realms).
I have zero reason to risk my main account for anything, especially not bots or cheats.
I love WoW for the nostalgia and community, and I am simply asking for fairness. If a real violation was committed, I would appreciate actual transparency on what triggered it.
Just to make things clear, this instance, among many that I’ve read about, I actually understand Blizzards system. I just know that if a proper look at the account, logs or whatever, will 100% show I haven’t used any cheat. It’s just so heartbreaking that I get banned when I really have been playing the game as intended, and allthough it is 100% an obsession/addiction in some sense, it is something I really need now in life, to just be able to immerse myself into the world, and I just never seem to get tired of the Classic experience.
Please, I request a thorough manual review before my account is lost permanently.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
