At high ratings monks are never the kill target as they are almost immortal when played right.
Watch Faffax, Thewy, Zug or any of the top Ww streamers for how to play correctly. Bicmex also has some youtube videos of shuffles vs monk at 3k+ rating.
You have FoF parry, disarm, port, fort brew, diffuse magic, dampen harm, karma and battlemaster trinket (optional) as your defensive abilities. Rotate these and don’t try to play as a warrior. Be smart.

I have watched those. In 3v3 rated they don’t do well.
Theyre ok in solo shuf.
In top 100 3v3 not a single monk
only 3 in top 200.
IN coordinated play monk is just overshadowed
Monk is weak when RMP is strong yeah.
Also, please keep in mind that this season ratings are skewed to a record breaking degree. So few people play 2s and 3s, that last I ckecked there were like 20 people or so above 2.4k in EU in 2s. Might be more by now, but you see the point. The overwhelming majority if people only play shuffle. At 1.8k you’re basically vs multiglads already
So yeah, currently if you’re not meta, you can’t be at the very top. This is not exclusive to monks unfortunately
The real question is, should the game really be balanced around AWC numerous rank 1 players, who must represent something like 0.1% of the player base (and can adapt to any meta anyway) or should it be balanced around the other 99.9% of the player base ?
Maybe “Faxxax, Thewy and Zug” can manage to survive for a while as Windwalkers, but they’re all three multi rank 1 3600xp players.
I can ensure you for the vast majority of players me included, Windwalker right now just feels super squishy, literal paper.
The game has almost always been balanced ariund the high skill level. If you buff a class not because it’s weak, but because it’s hard for the average player, it becomes godmode in the hands of the top players, and then they’d have to nerf it again.
That being said, WW feels squishy indeed. But I don’t want it buffed, but rather rebalanced so it can have more sustainable defence and be less centered around kills in a leg sweep only
WW dies in a stun if he doesnt have trinket. You cant outplay it. If they would just let us use any ability during stun - transcendence for example, that would be nice. You still had to think where to put it to be inside the range, so its not just press the button and be immortal.
don’t you guys have a Jedi representative in AWC who does pre-defcd every stun?
or is this “hold my beer gonna prewall next kidney” thing, not sure with monks
issue arent the cd, it’s the way the cd got nerfed over the years/exp.
unpull the nerf switch please.
