Hello, im new with monk in dragonflight, and i have a simple question, what is the best build for tyranial? I saw builds in guides, like icy veins and wowhead, but i checked RIO’s top players talents too, and this week most of them going with the single target build with faeline stomp with some changes, of course, for the AOE side as well.
I haven’t had time to test everything out with my monk, so i want to hear some advice from experienced monks.
And one more thing, i saw some different stuff on the defensive side at the talents of one of the top monks. Improved Vifiy+Vivicious Vivification instead of the Soothing Mist line+ Yu’lon’s Grace instead of Diffuse Magic. How off meta is this option? would it be very tied to a specific team? or does it depend on playstyle?
What i really interested is how customizable are these choices? I play with multiple characters and most of them tend to have everyone using the same build everywhere.
With monk, on the other hand, I see small differences in talents even among the top players.
I personally prefer this as I hate stomp. The difference is not that high. Also depends on the key level you want to play. 23 was fine for me with that build.
faeline stomp is usually just played in raids.
Most players you check on raider. io are also raiding and it often shows their raid spec and not m+ spec.
Generally there are only 2 m+ specs for monk available
Bonedust spinning crane kick (you will lose xuen cdr, procs and tod cdr)
No bonedust to favor a little more ST dmg with xuen cdr and rng xuen procs
I am usually just playing build 2 because
a) most people are terrible at ST anyways so it is better you are contributing more
b) trash flops over fast anyways
c) you are still doing solid aoe dmg
Either way, most of your dmg comes from touch of death anyways, which is the sole problem of WWs existence.
there are 2 ways on the left side of the tree:
goes to get instant vivify and 40% more healing of vivify, which is quite useful
you go the route of receiving 8% more heal, which technically is worth more over the course of the dungeon, but a clutch vivify heal on the right person could also change the game
probably preference. One is more active while the other is more passive.
Option 2 will also cost you 1 more skillpoint which will be missing in either detox or group avoidance. Soothing mist will be never ever used if you go that route anyways, but you have to skill it.
as for yulon vs. diffuse:
Situational. In some dungeons diffuse is really really good (also on bursting) and in other dungeons yulon would have more value.
E.g. in freehold I prefer yulons while in hoi or neltharus I prefer diffuse.
Generally speaking diffuse will save your life and makes the healers life much easier as you will use it for the hard hitting stuff. Yulong on the other hand will, in most cases not save you and just reduce the dmg by a bit that still has to be healed.
But if you always forget diffuse, well yulons is obviously better
