WW Monk Touch of Death/Shadow Priest Dispersion

ToD isnt doing -35% target hp, it does 35% of MONK max hp as dmg
but yes it’s still 35% hp dmg if both targets have around same hp
No defensive => bam you die
During defensive like disperion (or pain suppression, etc.) 35% reduced by 75% => 8.75% hp , a defensive defended you :open_mouth:
If it crits during disperion, it will kills, no problem with that, it’s a lucky crit

Blizzard could also changes the auras saying this spell totally ignores defense mecanism

Using a wall at 10-15% is totally fine versus anything but monks you know…

Player usually have the same hp, so what is the difference?

But only if you are above 8.75% hp and that is the point => ToD is only usable at <10% hp as it seems. So it’s very likely that you will still die through. You waited too long with your dispersion.

Warrior execute can also land for 10k+, Starsurge also for 10k+, Templers Verdict as well, Judgement proc for up to 25k and so on.

We have currently like 30k hp in average? 8.75% hp of that are 2625 hp / 0.25 = 10500. That means, that any ability which would hit for more than 10499 dmg outside of dispersion would kill you as well and I think we see that quite frequently, or not?

So again, it’s not the fault of the 3 minute cd ToD that you got killed, it’s your fault to disperse on such low hp! You are used to BfA gameplay, I get that, but we are back to MoP gameplay, so prediction and fast reactions matter a lot!

I’m ok with this, it can be a luck crit, it can be a mistake from me or healer being a little late.
But monk can secure kill too easily… that’s my point

Execute is an execute, Shadow word death is an execute, Kill shot is an execute.
Why are all of these not hitting through dispersion? Stop defending your class.

Because these are earlier use able and have less CD.

I dont mind making ToD an execute like the other classes and useable below 20/35% and no CD for less damage.

I remember I accidently used my touch of death on a dh in his darkness when he was 15% or lower, my ToD went off but he took like 0 damage from it because of the darkness. Is darkness classed as a shield and not a damage reduction then?

Darkness is a 20% chance to avoid attack, again another mecanism

They do!

Lets do the math again:

Execute, Kill Shot, SW:D and other abilities too can kill you through dispersion on low hp. ToD is a 3 minute cooldown that can only be used on <10% enemy hp. So if you die because of ToD through dispersion, you were way too late using your cooldown. Dispersion is not an immunity, if you are below 8.5% hp, it’s fine if a 3 minute cd can kill you.

ToD can’t crit, it’s a fixed value, quite laggy on a 3 minute cooldown. Templers Verdict or Starsurge do nearly as much damage as ToD during burst and have no real cooldown.

I agree to that. If that is what the majority wants, I am totally in!
