We only have windwalker as dps, we don’t have possibility to change our spec for aoe or single target situations like some other classes have.
When we look at the stats we are 22th dps at raids. Don’t you think we need some buffs to our single target damage? Maybe tiger palm can hit little bit more?..
I would welcome a ST buff to Monk anytime 
Do I think we need it though? Not from what I have seen and tested with my Monk on dummies or in PvP.
I have roughly the same ST damage output as my Unholy DK, my Pally or my Warrior, and with the toolkit we have as Monks I think we can easily dominate most fights.
I can’t speak for raiding though, and I did hear a lot of players complain on that front. Maybe we do need something there to help us.
Not to mention that your cooldowns are rather lax compared to other classes. My enhance shaman has to wait 3 minutes for ascendance, which isn’t even that great.
Maybe you really tried but, to compare like that, your unholy, pala, warrior and monk must have same item levels and even it is not enough, quality of items for that classes are also important.
But when we look at the avarage dps of classes it is obvious that monk’s single target is terrible.

They did all have the same ilvl ±2. Azerite trait wise my DK could use a few better ones but the other classes of mine are roughly in the same place as my Monk (Icy-Veins recommendation wise)
ST wise we are bad in Raids from what I hear, but in PvP it’s good.
But again, why should I disagree with a buff for my main character 
only a plus if Blizz decides to buff our ST.
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems that most new classes shine for one-two years and then are pulled back behind original classes.
I’m looking at both death knight’s and monk’s and I’m guessing this will be followed by demon hunters.
The only way to keep ww even competable with other classes, we have to use the mechagon trinket with cyclonic blast and make sure all our gear stats are versatility and crit. Its nice to know that we have a nice aoe toolkit for m+, but when SPK gets prio over RSK in ST fights, you know that monks need a ST buff. FoF is pretty powerful, but thats it! I really really hope they will get some sort of a buff pretty soon that can make us atleast competable with the other classes, and a utility talent of some kind and/or a 1 hour buff to party, 5% attack speed called “presence of Xuen” f.ex
what is SPK?
it breaks my heart to see windwalker in this state. And even more so seeing that blizzard is blatantly ignoring this class. Everyone else got a round of buffs and we are now officially the lowest DPS performing class in mythic EP by far!
Personally, I’m sitting at 5/8 M progression in EP but every boss fight I have to play at the top of my game to match up with the others, while I see the other classes breeze through DPS meters with ease…
peakofserenity. com wrote a very good and detailed article with cold hard facts on why we need buffs. But it is clear like day and night that blizzard is ignoring windwalkers. Their silence is truly deafening at this point and every round of buffs I see other classes get that we deserve way more, I get disheartened more and more as I realize, the only reason we exist is to create a bottom benchmark for other classes to feel good about themselves

the buffs are a little late, but very welcomed indeed. i just hope it’s enough to keep us relevant in 8.3!

Windwalker
Rising Sun Kick damage increased by 25%.
Blackout Kick damage increased by 10%.
Anyone here that tested this on the PTR and can say we are doing better?
Seems its all in the tallents, or in the case of the windwalker, it isn’t.
It won’t change much tbf. RSK and BK is what, 15% of our overall dmg combined?
It’s actually pathetic, waiting 4 months for a 3% buff to pretty much the worst raid spec in the game and it’s coming with a gutting of brewmaster. With the spread aoe in the next raid and ww not benefiting from extra weapon effects because of clones as much as other classes, can’t wait to be even worse than now during the next tier. It’s impressive WW is kept so low through the entire expansion in raid environment.
We will get buffed one day and finally when everything is good we will be nerfed so much that the class will be unplayable for years to come
