I am at a loss now. I have the generator ofc. I have 30 points in Mech minds as per guides (which some say only 20, I know). I even have 40 in inventions just to make sure.
I have visited and activated all of the nodes. I went around a second time to see if I missed one.

It seems that you also now need the 3 signal transmitters in the forbidden reach as well as the 12 on the main land.

The island was opened with patch 10.07, so I am guessing that this has been the case since then. Nothing in the patch notes to be seen.
