Xal'atath's Bargain: Ascendant affix

The first time I encountered them in M+ (as dps) I tried to AoE them down :stuck_out_tongue:
Every time. At the end of the dungeon some team(team?)member yelled “LEARN THE [EFFING] AFFIX!”
So like a good schoolboy (because World of Warcraft is not a game anymore, it is a preparation for an exam) I went to wowhead to see what the deal is with this affix. And there it says they need to be CC’d.
How? There are so many, yet they all broke down.

Someone explain to me how this works please.

CC is crowd control. You can kick them, stun them, use Blinding Light and so on.

Yes, I understood that. But those with single target CC can’t break them all?
So a group needs someone that has a CC that touches most if not all orbs that spawns.

You can break one with single target CC, you can break another with kick. And other players could do the same, every specialization has some abilities. Of course it’s more efficient to use AoE CC and remove all orbs at once.

Yeah, trying to do all ten with single target CC is gonna be a miserable experience. Displacement (knockup/knockback) works too, and I believe dispels do as well, which means you could just hit your racial.

Paladins aren’t great at this affix. Blinding Light handles it, but the cooldown is long. Compared to say, shamans or mages, who could solo the affix even if it spawned twice as often. I hold Blinding Light and use it if it looks like the group isn’t going to handle it.
