Raiku talks about what happened in his twitter post (3rd paragraph) Wintraders held the video for 2 years to black mail Raiku, Whaazz etc to keep quiet about who was wintrading, When they didn’t and reported them they leaked the video to get them ban.
“For the last two years my team and I were under the pressure that someone has something against us in their hands and whenever we would say something wrong, they could just release it. Why did this all happen now and not back in the days when those videos were actually recorded, you might ask yourself? After watching the PVP ladder in World of Warcraft being manipulated for years, my team and I decided that the amount of win trading for rank 1 titles has become too much. People that honestly tried to play up their way on the ladder had literally no chance and it also destroyed the game for us that were playing for many years. So we reported the people. And I also made a tweet that included a picture about one of those games. As a result, they leaked the video to pay us back. From my understanding they have recorded everything we privately streamed for the past two years without us knowing.”
He also addresses what he said in the video.
The wintraders mentioned can be found in a video on a Twitch.tv channel called “Worldofwintraders” being recorded while talking about it.
Well. That permaban is quite nasty for people like Raiku that actually made a bit of money from tournaments.
But this doesn’t fix win trading in general. They need to monitor pvp a hell of a lot more but it’s such a niche in wow anyway and I doubt more will happen.

The thing is, the wintraders can just make new accounts and continue wintrading. The ban from AWC is way worse because they banned the person, not any account or character. Raiku knew this which is why he kept quite for so long.
It’s kinda sad. Blizzard should actually see the difference. Yes, they have their standards. But seriously, whatever anyone of them said they said it in privat. They got secretly recorded which is is a criminal offence in most countries. It’s even more bitter considering Raiku apparently just wanted to the actual, real right thing by reporting the wintraders. And now he is being punished? Punished for being secretly recorded and exposed? Punished for reporting people who actively ruin the ladder and make big money with it?
Sorry, but this is just plain wrong. Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves. Right now they are actively supporting wintraders and blackmailers.
