Well they said they wanted to see guilds kill certain bosses after weeks or months. “Tryhard” guilds on retail take months to down a boss. No classic guilds are not hardcore, the ppl happy are streamers like Sarthe just wanting to parse.
Not really nerfed? The HM boss HP is the same now as the normal mode boss HP was last week, you now need something like 3600dps per player to kill it on hardmode 25man.

Not quite that low, unless you’ve just split that between all 25 players and included the tanks and healers?
We did it earlier today with our lowest DPS being around 5.5k, granted we still hit the enrage timer. Also had the odd death to poorly placed gravity bombs. It’s definitely over-nerfed as far as I’m concerned, but at least the healer check with tantrum is still inplace.
I was just counting the HM phase, not including tank/healer dps if you have 19 dps it’s 3684 dps to the boss for 25.2mil over 6mins. But that was just pulled out of my behind.
So just counting the 19 dps, not the tank dps. 25% of boss HP + HM boss health is 29.7m total so 4342 dps over 6mins. The heart has 5.4mil but it takes double damage so it’s a little lower in practice, that taken into account the fight dps required is 4736dps.
You also probably have around 5mil damage done total to sparks during the fight, an additional 731 dps per player but quite a bit of that can be passive cleave/multi-dotting so 5467 effective dps per player, only including the 19 dps with some of it coming from passive cleave.
That is a really really easily manageable number as long as you survive.
Yeah, XT was definitely over-nerfed. It is by far the easiest HM now. I don’t understand why they didn’t “just” nerf heart hp and hm bonus hp by like 15% and see if that’d push any guilds over the edge. Maybe another 15% later down the line with general nerfs they plan to do.
Now it’s literally puggable week 3.
I’m not sure if I should care or not. On one hand challenge is nice. On the other XT HM was purely mathematical one. You can’t beat it until the team passes specific threshold in terms of gear. All that for rewards that at a glance ain’t exactly amazing. Chest for Holy Paladin, low end tanking weapons for all Except Prot Warrior for whom it’s BiS as far as I looked for now. And in the end reaching the opportunity to grab those too late in the phase basically kills the reason to get them as the alternatives will come into existence. And trust me nothing sucks more than being undergeared for next phase.
Oh I couldn’t even get in Ulduar yet because most pugs set requirements at 4.2k/Already have tanks/require achievement. And I can’t really upgrade much since nobody runs Naxx in full. Broken Promise, Tier 7.5 Chest, and other upgrades being beyond my reach thanks to that. Joy
Strange, I see full and skip runs about 50:50 of the time. Must be server specific. I won a dying curse in a full clear 25 pug out of like 14 rolls, 3 of them being mine
I am in a guild. Could try to switch but none of recruiting ones wants Paladins (should have done my research and not pick the most popular class) and I can’t really fit into their schedules perfectly due to working in shifts. One week it’s 6-2 and another it’s 2-10 which means I’d skip scheduled raids every other week.
