meanwhile im reading and seeing a warrior saying not to bring 2h frost dk back cause it dosent work? so that means that 1 handed fury warrior with one handers didnt work aswell? and that ww monk from wod and mop with 2 hander did not hit harder? all im going to say , remove the weapon req for warrior ,ww monk and dk and let them chose what they want to play like in mop and wod . have 2 hander as dk made your obliterate pull higher numbers but slower hits , and dual weild frost dk did more dps did lesser numbers but it was faster same for 1 handed sword fury warrior. and ww monk hited harder but it was slower i forgot the passive effect the monk had for wearing each weapon . but now you are forced to play how blizzard wants ,just kills uniqueness of the game its no loner player choice its what blizzard wants and its wrong

This is an MMORPG. It should be the player that chooses to pick a certain type of weapon, not the devs.
It should be up to you to specialize in either 2h or dual wield. There should be talents that give you that choice. It’s obvious that 2H should give more burst potential and dual wield more sustain dmg.
It should not depend on other classes having 2H as well. Rogues and DH are classes that have a certain fantasy regarding weapons. A frost DK (like Arthas) should be able to pick either a 2H or dual wield.
To me it makes more sense that any DK can chose any weapon (2H or dw) for any spec, it should have consequences regarding the type of dps output it generates. There should be talents in place that provide choice.
Same goes for Enhancement shamans, Fury warriors, monks.
If you don’t like a design, pick another one.

Personally I would want 2h frost to come back mainly because im lazy and just want 1 weapon that I can change the weapon and play all specs
Also a rework of both Unholy and Frost would be widely welcomed I believe… Unholy going back to being a disease spec where the more you have on the target the more damage your scourgestrike does as currently not a single move from unholy feels impactful.
Frost I would like to see more influence on from frost abilities and having obliterate be a massive RP dump not frost strike… I really enjoyed frost in TOS when you had to use frost strike @5 stacks of Razorice then it would build back up.
What? I’m saying choice is the best option. Give us the choice to pick 2H or DW.
I’m sort of with you regarding the choice but if they do that they’d need to do it for all classes surely. And that’s fine except I quite enjoy certain abilities being locked behind a type of weapon - it brings more flavor and makes the class feel more meaningful.
Re frost dual wielding one handers I mean… Why not just let them use daggers while we’re at it? I mean they could do even more DPS because they’d attack even faster and since most of their damage would be magical it wouldn’t really matter, right?
We did have a choice before Legion. Blizzard was pretty clear when they decided to change frost to dual wield that there were constant problems with balancing the dps between those options. Perhaps it is an unpopular opinion but I like the dual wielding frost DK better.
It’s not about giving classes/specs the endless posibility to equip whatever they like, it must fit in the class fantasy right? So that means a Frost DK should be able to pick between either 2h (mace/sword/axe) or DW (maces/swords/axes). Daggers don’t fit in that fantasy. How do we determine class fantasy? It’s based on lore, examples from Warcraft, characters like Arthas. I’m not saying ret paladins should be able to DW or anything.
Adding multiple choices regarding weapon type (within class fantasy borders) also increases the feeling of freedom and personalising the class/spec to your own needs or preferences. There should be certain situations where 2H adds more value than DW, like creating burst windows within arena vs more steady dmg in PvE situations.
This is my take on it. We all know this is the old system that was in place when classes were classes, and specs were just specializations within that class, instead of the situation now where the spec is actually the class itself.
I played FDK when you could use a 2 hander or DW. People were always asking for buffs to 2 hander or dw… most annoying. I just want them to FIX the spec and make it enjoyable, and not the fecking BoS crap.
Like that’ll ever happen.
