I recently started playing again since quiting at WoD. One of the things I loved in MoP and WoD and had most fun in, was challenge mode dungeons. I am aware that these ‘‘evolved’’ into M+, but it’s not the same in my opinion. I wouldn’t call it evolution, I would call it diversion. M+ dungeons are a form of progression. Meaning you acquire gear and then push on to harder difficulties and acquire better gear and so on. Yes, there is a timer which brings back to memory the CM aspect but it’s still not the same.
Challenge mode dungeons had nothing to do with gear progression. It was all about bragging rights if you like, and the two most defining points were:

It awarded possibly (imho) the best looking transmog armor sets in the game so far (MoP) and some very impressive weapons (WoD). Long story sort, cosmetic rewards. Mounts as well.

You didn’t need to farm gear (well you did, but not what I would call farming. It didn’t take long) to participate in CM. It scaled your gear down and made the whole experience challenging.
It can be seen as a solution to stick a cosmetic reward to M+ but why not keep it separate? Bring back CM as it was with gear scaling and all, for those who would like to have a go at earning comsetic rewards; and keep M+ as it is for gear progression. Give people the option to chose which path to follow (or do both) and let’s see the design team create some more awsome looking cosmetic rewards, something they don’t seem to have done since MoP. Many people are asking for CM’s to return, I hope the powers that be listen to the community.
Oh and while you are at it, could you please finally make the vanilla PvP titles available account-wide? I am not sure if it clashes with RGB titles (haven’t done any yet), but if it does…stick a ‘‘veteran’’ before the title to show that the individual attained said title in vanilla and not later, e.g. ‘‘Veteran Commander’’. We spent so much time earning these titles and most of us old dogs don’t play these characters anymore. Please, hear us out.
