You can buy everything in the Cash shop with Gold, stop complaining

There’s precious few of those kinds of things though.

I considered some time ago making an addon that would convert all prices in the game from gold, silver, and copper into euros based on the latest token price when you last visited the AH. Just as a sort of troll.

Tell you what though, BoEs are grossly overpriced. People want 2-4 tokens worth each, that’s insane.

(Although I’m not convinced they ever sell at that, but it is the typical list price.)

HAH! In Diablo 3 people wanted €240 for some items.

Yet another reason not to play D3 I guess :joy_cat:

But I’m not a fan of the ability to swipe for gear. I don’t think there should be any max ilvl BoEs in the game; at most, heroic raids should drop normal quality BoEs, mythic raids should drop heroic quality BoEs.

Cosmetics OTOH? Load up with them! I won’t buy the vast majority, but one or two I probably will. Throw them on the store like there’s no tomorrow. Just also put equally good but different cosmetics available for gameplay. The current transmog for cash is embarrassingly good vs tier sets ¬_¬

Earned them?!.. the method is irrelevant, it’s about exclusivity, which is the reason why I rarely buy anything from the store, because in-game we all want to feel “special”.

I don’t care how ugly a mount looks, if I’m one of the few that has it in-game, you best believe it will be my favourite mount.

Again, the method is irrelevant, the focus is exclusivity.

You see, I just can’t find it inside myself to ride Invincible… it’s just too ugly.

When you reach the point where people feel comfortable to publicly support the cash shop, you’ve hit a sad moment in WoW’s life cycle.

It’s part of the game, it’s not going anywhere.

It’s a case of jump on the train or chase the train, because the train is going that way anyway.

I suspect that the OP’s thread was more to trigger a response…and it will, because we all prioritise different things in life.

However bottom line, money is not some mythical item that you gain through osmosis with no effort. It’s not just lying around in great quantities and availability for you to do what you wish with.

In order to have financial stability it takes a hell of a lot of work, of effort, of time investment, of skill. However to me personally, it’s not half as valuable as time, because I have invested the time, the skill, the effort and still do, to retain my profession and my financial viability.

However, it doesn’t matter how successful I am, I cannot buy, manufacture, or gain more time. I can balance it, but no matter what I do I can’t gain more.

So to me it’s simple, I want to do the things I find fun, I want to maximise my time, so I use the resources I have in abundance, money to achieve this.

Yet you better believe, that everything I have bought cost me effort, working 12 hour shifts is not easy, earning money is very rarely fun boys and girls, it’s called work for a reason. Not hobbies, not games, work!.

So while I respect your feelings that things gained in game are worth more to you, others may not see it that way, as the method of attainment will be based on personal and individual preference and needs.

Personally, I’d love to sit on my bottom playing a game all day to get “gud” and achieve all I want in game in the time I have been allotted in my lifetime. However the reality is, unless I win some life changing amount…

Bills got to be paid, shelter got to be paid, we need food on the table and I need to clothe and take care of my son, I accept thems the breaks.

However don’t think that cash shop items come especially easily, yeah spending money isn’t a big effort. However believe me, getting that money always tends to be, for most of the population

Some don’t know feeling of meaning of gaming .

A lot of mounts in the game don’t really have any sense of achievement to them. They are just go to vendor and buy. The Store is no different in that regard if you are farming gold and then converting to balance.

Good on you people who can make gold.

Sure this doesn’t cover all. But I used to see a lot of those Vendor mounts as a challenge to level up my Reputation. I remember that used to feel like a big grind back in earlier versions of the game. Even when I returned in BFA, I remember buying a Rep mount for the first Rep I levelled up… then I realised that maxing your rep was now only the start of it all…

I wish Paragon mounts would go back on Quartermaster vendors but that’s a different issue.

See I don’t mind Paragon mounts. It’s like getting paid gold to get mounts :).

The drop rates aren’t too bad on them in SL. The only 2 I haven’t got are Ven’ari (as I’ve only had 1 Paragon chest there) and Deaths Advance (I had 1 of the mounts).

Oneshotting a boss and watching its RP dialogue for countless weeks doesn’t feel like you’ve earned it either. Sure there are some mounts in the game that require skill or hard work, but most old mounts nowadays require grinding boring menial tasks to get them.

I’d rather have a good looking mount than some ugly horse that drops from a raid boss.

“My credit card is my own!” (How was my Illidan impression?)
But no seriously, I’m 30 (and haven’t talked to my dad in almost 10 years), it’s my own hard earned cash. Capitalism dictates that if I want something and I can afford it then I buy it.
