It’s no longer possible to turn off the ‘Full Screen Glow’ graphics option on TBC Classic, at least from trying to do so on both the PTR and the Beta.
If you don’t know what the ‘Full Screen Glow’ effect is, you can go into the current retail version of Classic (currently before the pre-patch) and type these commands
/console ffxGlow 1
To enable the effect, then
/console ffxGlow 0
To disable it, you will see the clear difference between them.
Typing this command into the PTR or the Beta clients has no effect whatsoever, I also tried adding the line
SET ffxGlow “0”
to the Config.wtf file and it also has no effect.
Nah, it does not. I tried every method of disabling it. You can try it easily with a dead character and ffxdeath 0. Same category of cvars, it changes the blue-ish glow when you are dead (the thing that you could disable in vanilla wow originally).
Leatrix Plus (Burning Crusade Classic), dont have the setting no more to remove this aswell, like the classic one has.
i hope they fix this with full screen glow on it really hurts my eyes, i know on retail there was a bug that kept turning this setting back on so you would need to run a macro ever time you log in but its not the case here it just cant be turn off at all no matter what you try.
It’s also causing alot of fps bursts when looking at the Stormwind entrance pond/cannal and smoke textures especially the one at Iceblood Graveyard in AV.
If this is true please give us the option to turn it back off, some zones like Wetlands look horrific with it on at certain times of day, absolutely nothing like it looked back in 2004.
i still dont understand, in classic you can disable, in retail you can disable as well, but not in tbc classic and ptr
Please fix before the release, i dont want to buy a sunglasses to play tbc
