Why do you need to ignore so many people?
You join my group, then you leave without saying anything => Ignore
You are mean to me => Ignore
You are mean to others => Ignore
You are just insuffarable => Ignore
You join my group and then leave again without saying anything => Ignore
You steal my ore => Ignore (that’s a rhyme!)
You spam too much crap in chat => Ignore
That reminds me: A VIP function would be nice so I can mark players are being nice.
And now stop this discussion. This thread is not about why I ignore players. I also report all of them. Normalize ignore and report. This is about why the functionality is still the same as in 2004.

Dunno… I dont find so many “mean people”.
Maybe instead of a longer igore list you need to redifine what “mean” means and re-think why you are so picky… Maybe you are mean yourself you know…

No, I just have zero tolerance and I have a great experience ingame. I just don’t see why one can’t act in a decent way. It’s simple: I don’t wanna interact with that kind of people.
The thread, as I point out in the begining, isn’t about discussion my suprior way of using the ignore list but just to inform the devs that there is a need for bigger lists. And with big we mean infinite.

You can ofc ignore like half the server if you want but I also find it a bit excessive. The 3-5 ignores I got, I put them on people who simply couldn’t take the message to kindly… get… you get the idea and kept spamming me with profanities. So an /ignore actually can be felt by them.
Just /ignoring every person who looked at you funny seems so weird. Its like having some old lady take your parking spot for example so you go home and announce it to your 4 walls that “I am ignoring you now! TAKE THAT!”. The old lady probably doesn’t know your name…even less where you live. So unless you think that your “i am ignoring you!” has some psychic mind waves which can affect her…whats the point? Its like shouting at the sky and think that it actually affects somebody…
You treat people as NPCs, or, have zero empathy.
Your so called “zero tolerance” could be someone that is not a native english speaker trying to suggest something.
Or simply, someone that IS a good guy. But that specific day he depleted 10 keys in a row and is bumed out.
You assume too much. And the ignore list limit is there for a reason. To remind people not to be so intolerant.
Sometimes walking away is enough. And you might have 1 more person to play in the future.
But you do you ok?
In 20 years I have a grand total of 3 players on my ignore list.

If you are ignoring someone, it has to be for more than the terrible offence of “saying nothing”, some people have social anxiety, or just want to quietly do their stuff and leave.
Unless someone actively makes my experience worse, they don’t get ignored.
Openly saying you report people for some of this stuff might even get you actioned for making false reports…
I removed the ones about being mean, being mean to you or others is totally unacceptable and those people deserve to be ignored, or even reported, depending on if what they said breaks the rules.

How does someone “steal your ore”?
I’m not massively fond of the term snowflake, but sometimes if the shoe fits… Imagine putting someone on ignore because they mine a node near you. Chances are you’ll never speak to them anyway but you feel the need to put them on ignore. Pettyness level 9000.
