You Covenant and Why? Research

I knwo we have guides atc. but many people have different opinion…

What you covenant, why and what you play??

Me:
Ele, Resto
Kyrian
because i hate Nectro what is a best by guides and kyrian looks good too for sham, i hope

Hey man,

I play Necro because its viable in pve and good in pvp. Overall I really like the necro feel aswell.
Tbh any covenant will do, the most important thing is you like what you pick. So far no regrets. I’ve seen Kyrian ele’s out there doing decent damage so its all good.
Hope you enjoy kyrian as much as I enjoy Necro!

Enh (open world) ele (raids) resto (dugeons)
I choose venthyr…
Why? Because the spell is just a sing le step…
And shadow step is amazing.
And then there is Revendreth, a lovely home .

Shamans allready have so many systems and mechanics, dont need another one

I only play PvP so I went:

-Ele/resto - Necrolords on one shaman
-Enh - Venthyr 2nd shaman

Venythyr for Enhance, good for all aspects of the game for the spec, but I only PvP.

Leveld as ele so ventyr felt great when nuking down a big pack.

So i tricked myself into venthyr but swapped to necro before i actalluy got anywhere. Since i main Resto and aim for pvp, the exta riptide is great.

Venthyr. Chain Harvest benefits from maelstrom stacks so it becomes instant cast and It fits in with my burst rotation nicely. Door of Shadows is just too cool

necro to get all the absorbs in pvp to maybe mend our lackluster survivability+ Pwave is a cool skill

Enhance currently, probably Elemental too when I get some gear.
Night Fae
Because I have 4 characters that I keep going through each expansion and Night Fae seemed to fit best aesthetically and story wise with my Shaman.

Abilities wise, I feel I chose poorly. Fae Transfusion is decent in 1v1 and ST fights but then there’s no benefit for increased targets. Whilst Soulshape has so much crossover with Ghost Wolf it’s not always worth using.

Venthyr enhancement shaman.

Was tempted to roll night fae but decided not to as the mail set looks really cool

I’ll be picking Venthyr as Resto. The ability is versatile, with a Disc feel to it, and the shadowstep is nice

I can see why Necrolord is very good, but the thought of spending more time than necessary in Maldraxxus is unpleasant. I found the storylines interesting (though running into Vashj made me twitch a little), but the whole area is full of dystopian stuff which I need a break from. As it is, I haven’t raided in years because of work, so I’m glad I don’t have to pick them.

For me, Torghast will be end-game, so I’ve been reading up on Kyrian vs Venthyr. I liked Vesper, but the range is awfully small, and so it feels finicky. The potion is potentially very useful too. It’s just that I don’t have a lot of WoW bandwidth right now, mentally speaking, so easier to use is preferable. Hence, Venthyr.

I wish that abilities were balanced across Covenants so people had real choices based more on personal preferences and on aesthetics than on usefulness.

I first chose Night Fae since “hey, i’m a Shaman and should care for nature and such”. Also the AoE skill was quite nice.

But I felt myself more and more drawn towards Venthyr, I really like their transmogs, mount and skills. Chain Harvest is a blessing and for enhancement shamans, Nadjia the Mistblade has some really nice soulbinds that gives a healthy boost to haste.

Ele/resto here. Prior to leveling I was all set to join Kyrian, it was my only covenant choice I was sure of. After levelling and trying the abilities I found myself choosing between Necrolord and Venthyr. I went with Necrolord as I enjoyed the story in the zone and felt the power fit nicely into my rotation, even though the shield spell is a bit meh. Not regretted my choice.

Down the line I have an enhance shammy that I will take to Revendreth.

Necro because I thought Primo Wave could be good, god I was wrong, going back to Venthyr ASAP.

I picked kyrian cause of cool armors, abilities will be nerfed.

Enh Ventyr, fell in love with chain harvest and the zone. Hits like a truck, heals the group, short enough cool down that i never feel like a should sit on it and it just looks great.
Door of Shadows is a really fun skill as well, i never expected to be able to teleport vertically. The zone also looks great and really clicked for me, it’s cool and the NPC’s are fun. Most others covenants annoyed me in some way or i didn’t like the ability.
Mail armor also looks amazeballs for once.

Night Fae skill was pretty dope but had too big drawbacks, also the damn fairies were annoying as hell. Bastion was boring in every way possible. Didn’t much care for Maldraxxus even if Primordial wave was alright if a bit weak. Npc’s were…contradictory…

“Only the strong survive!” - Drakka
“I protect the weak!” - Also Drakka

God damn it, sort yourself out Drakka!

Went Night Fae for Shaman (primarily Restoration) for both PvP and PvE. Don’t care if it’s the worst choice for Shamans, I find good uses for it. Plus the Night Fae ability does good damage (5.3k, 2.9 sec cast) in lvl 50-59 BGs. The only downside of it is that the AOE radius is quite small so people can walk out of it fairly quick (hence why I stun and use it after).

The other downside is that if someone interrupts you, that’s that, wait 2 minutes to use it again and all of your other spells are locked as well for the silence duration.

Should you go Night Fae if you’re overly competitive and full on serious? No. It needs a change/buff.
I did it for the transmog, theme, etc.

Overall, it sucks and can easily be countered in PvP. In PvE it’s decent to my knowledge.

Have you tried it in Torghast yet, out of curiosity?

I was thinking it might not be horrible there because trash packs aren’t usually the issue, especially with no timer. I thought it might add some single-target damage on bosses (plus the teleport is nice). Also, I understand some of the soulbinds aren’t bad at all.

I’m definitely not full on serious in any way, so I have leeway, but I’d rather not gimp myself too much if I can help it. I’m okay with Venthyr, even though the mail transmogs are underwhelming. I’d much rather go Fae for the flavor stuff, though.

Venthyr

Because i want to be reaper from overwatch

Ele Shaman here, so far I’ve mostly done BGs so at first I chose Night Fae to act as a replacement for Gust of Wind with Soulshape and despite the hate Fae transfusion deals a ton of damage if you can cast it on an isolated target (tooltip was at 7k dmg with ilvl 150) and great to spot a rogue who stealthed in front of you

Recently changed for the “meta” pick for ele, being Necrolords and while Fleshcraft is a bit awkward to use (can’t use it before the BG gates open) the added survivability and the AoE pressure of Primordial Wave are really welcome.
