Take off? Disconnect. Land? Disconnect. Turn while D.R.I.V.ing? Disconect. Exit D.R.I.V.E. too fast? Disconnect. Enter a vehicle? Disconect. Enter an instance? Disconnect. Blink? Disconnect. Start a pet battle? Disconect. Breathe? Disconnect.
I understand the need for cheater prevention but with skyriding and now D.R.I.V.E. around maybe it’s time to change things?
The disconnection is not a way to prevent cheaters, it is because the engine and the server disagree on your location irreconcilably. Since WoW handles movement on the client, this reconciliation must fall in the client’s favor, and if it can’t the server bounces you out and repositions you to what it feels your true location should be.
It’s annoying as hell, yes, and it gets worse and worse the faster we go.
I was gonna say… I remember during Legion prepatch, DH would disconnect every time they double jumped backwards or something like that. And then they dropped the new updated physics engine which fixed things. I think it’s time to update it once again.
Disconnections while running into certain corners, objects, normally inaccessible areas and falling through the terrain are anti-cheat upgrades over the years. These disconnects were introduced to prevent multiboxing botters from no-clipping through the main ground using 3rd party cheat programs, where they tried to avoid detection from us normal players to minimize the chance of being reported and banned. So that they could in theory cheat and bot longer- which meant more gold funneled to their gold selling businesses which they sold for real money. But obviously didn’t work since Blizzard caught them pretty quickly and fixed the exploit permanently.
Do not go to your Garrisons, i repeat do not go to your garrisons. They at the moment are almost uninhabitable. And you can risk getting a disconection combo.
How interesting, I had no idea but that makes a lot of sense. I can’t say I often bump into it, it has happened a few times the last few years but nothing outrageous. Can imagine if it happens a lot it’s annoying tho.
I’ve also had disconnects when mining, fly off at speed, find a node, use the “aerial halt”-move, and then get disconnected, i understand wanting to stop botters (Sysiphean task it may be), but to get disconnected for using an in-game skill is quite silly…
I have none of these issues. at all. NEVER happened. i’d say it’s prolly some kind of wonky addon that’s causing you problems. try deleting your wow cache folders and try without addons.
