Hello, I have the same problem right after updating to patch 10.2.5, and even after 10.2.5.53040 .
I am using Win7 x64 sp1 with an old AMD videocard - but it was working fine before patch…
This seems to be a recurring occurence, I found this topic: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/3d-accelerator-card-not-supported-windows-7/121145
The possible solutions written there didn’t work for me:
- set World of Warcraft Launcher.exe and Wow.exe properties “Run as administrator” - done this, no change
- 17th post (blue): “… Game Settings and check Additional Command Line Arguments for World of Warcraft. In the text box that appears enter “-D3D11” without quotes and hit Done.” - done this, no change
- 45th post (blue): "navigate to the World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF and open the Config.WTF file with a text editor. Look for SET gxApi and change the value to “D3D11_LEGACY”. It should look like this after: SET gxApi “D3D11_LEGACY” - done this, no change
- 115th post (blue): “make sure you have the Windows 7 Platform update” - I already had it installed
- 173rd post (blue: “missing the Service Pack 1 for Windows 7” and “Once the service pack 1 is installed fully, please check that this update is picked up as well” - I already had it installed
I hope my logs below are useful, and someone can tell me what can I do to make retail WoW run on my current setup (upgrading everthing is not an option right now), or maybe Blizzard can use these to come up with a hotfix.

Had the same problem before, think it was prior to Dragon. Been trying everything I could think off: deleting everything and reinstalling more than once… No luck!
