I actually really miss the Legion dungeons, they were enjoyable to M+.
But my all time favorite dungeon is probably Halls or Origination or Well of Eternity.
My best memories come from Cata Zul’Aman though.
Worst dungeon is one of the TBC end time dungeons, Opening the Dark Portal probably wins as the worst dungeon though.
Best: Court of Stars
Worst: Tie between Atal’Dazar and Cathedral
Not worst by design, but I blacklisted the Blackrook Hold from my personal M+ list. Just like I blacklisted temple in BfA. I truly hated them in higher difficulties and as I say - not because of design on its own, but how mentally exhausting the runs there became.
My favourite probably was old vanilla timed stratholme service side. And Scholomance was not bad either. From newer - BfA dungeons Waycrest and Kings rest come to mind. Could go back there any time.
BfA:
Best:
Upper Mechagon
Worst:
Tol Dagor
Legion:
Best:
Arcway
Worst:
Seat, tied with Cathedral pre-nerf
Overall:
Best:
Arcway by a Mile
Worst:
Tol Dagor, also by a Mile
M+:
FH, AD and ML are probably the one I enjoy more.
While Tol Dagor, Shrine and KR are the worst one Imo.
Talking about architecture/aesthetic Waycrest is probably the best one.
There’s been a lot of hate for Tol Dagar, may I ask why some dislike the dungeon? I don’t mind it too much. Barrel boss can be annoying but when barrels are centralized, it can be easy.
Too much reliant on cannons optimization.
The vertical level are bad and a lot of unintended pull can happen from one floor to another or between walls.
And I don’t like the aesthetics of the dungeon in general.
Tight areas making the camera and things like sanguine horrible. Made significantly easier with a rogue or someone who can open locks. Paperthin walls, making it not that difficult to pull mobs through them, or even from another floor.
I also don’t think any of the bosses are particularly interesting, but that’s just an opinion thing.
Best : Court of Stars, Halls of Valor
Worst : Seat of the Triumvirat

Good points there. My group failed the timer because mobs on the floor beneath us came to us randomly when near the end.
Really interesting healer dungeon
Last boss is super fun
Loved Dungeons in Legion and was happy running low-mid range M+. I’ve not done a dungeon in months, BfA and the ‘competitive’ nature of people made me not want to do them. Everything has to be min -maxed (even on a 5-8 key people are still moaning about wrong spec, azerite, essessneces and corruptions. ) People are killing the game more than Blizzards poor choices are.
Best- freehold and waycrest manor
Worst- both mechagon dungeons and temple of sethraliss

The hate comes from the crappy execution of the design.
People hate it because it’s too narrow for sanguine and quaking weeks, the fleeing mob are way too annoying, and pulling stuff across floors and wall because they’re poorly designed is never fun.
In terms of pure M+, ie not about which instance I like the most from a theme point of view, my favourite is ML.
Worst one, the one I enjoy the least in M+, KR.
Outside M+ considerations, my favourite is FH and Sots is the worst as it feels simply an interrupt marathon, which is lazy design.
Overall idk.
If we talk about BFA. Worst ones, that im trying to avoid, for me are tol dagor, shrine, kings rest.
The ones i like most are these in open spaces without ceiling and lot of trash. Freehold, junkyard, motherlode.
None i even a liked a little so ofc i don’t and didn’t take part on them after a very few run, they are all garbage this x-pack for me like that entire x-pack though.
Extremely poorly themed, a waste of time and annoying all of them.
Worst:
Tol dagor x 100000000000000000
Mobs STILL get pulled through the floors/walls.

It’s hard for me to name a single best and single worst. I’ll rate them in my tier list:
S tier: Freehold, Motherload, Mechagon Workshop
A tier: Shrine, Mechagon Junkyard, Atal Dazar
B tier: King’s Rest, Waycrest, Temple, Tol Dagor
C tier (aka join another key tier): Boralus, Underrot
