First thing Keento would do if he hears the whispers of the void is probably run screaming to his mentor and asking for helpā¦
Fox is learning druid stuff, and would probably immediately associate any whispers with a Nightmare infection, and believe that he did something wrong during dreamwalking.
Definitely the cursed knowledge and unclear instructions. Itād probably be the fast lane for Zuuka to turn into a dark shaman. Saddest thing is she probably wouldnāt notice it fast enough, so once she does, itād not be a painless process to do something about it.
Oh look, a voice in my head telling me to do something atrocious to my neighbours! Pull up a chair, boy. Iāve plenty of disembodied demons, eldritch entities and sinister spirits to keep you company. Just keep the shathāyar to a minimum, I donāt know nearly enough of it for it to be useful to either of us.
Already happened Iām afraid, so he just has to live with it⦠somehow.
A curse in disguise of a blessing but yes, Jeyceās abilities have grown increasingly āsuperā since his contact with the Void though of course not without consequences, ones he continues to fear every single day and works hard to keep under at least a touch of control.
Maybe not to this extent but the character was definitely pushed to extremes especially when given the chance to maim and murder. Sure, maybe some of the people had it coming but the screaming in his head arenāt very necessaryā¦
Des hereād probably redouble meditation, since paladins undergo training specifically to reduce the risk of unwanted intrusion inside oneās head. Aswell as seek out some renādorei associates to ask how best to deal with it.
Salfalur, my DK, 'd be like āDarnit, the Lich King was finally -out- of my head, and now this? Get the flarp out.ā
Hargorin meanwhile: Johnny Bravo screaming like a girl
This is arguably cheating, because the Void always chatters, tempts and deride the void elves to some extent. They have the training to mitigate the effects more handily than any mortal race, so the canon reality of such an event would be a generally manageable event.
Unpleasant to be certain, but manageable.
But letās assume Umbraeus neglected his meditations and rituals. Letās assume something managed to shake him emotionally, thus creating a chink in his mental armour.
Umbraeus would cease to exist, and in his place would be a monstrous thrall of madness and bedlam.
A creature driven by nothing so much, as the deeply-rooted remnants of the once accomplished scholarās insights. This would take the shape of a primitive intellect desperate to regain the sanity it no longer has, but may vaguely recall having once guarded so diligently.
Unfortunately for Azerothās denizens, this means trying to psychically pull said sanity out of the heads of everyone else. A āprocedureā only likely to create more of the creatureās own kind, and leave the shell of Umbraeus eternally hunting for that which it can never reclaim.
Sounds like the start of a new Cultist Simulator save.
John, should he ever fall to temptation, is definitely the type of old man to go crazy after turning a page he was not meant to. Falling into a state where he canāt tell whether itās another dream or reality. Nightmares within nightmares. Then youād see him streaking by the Stormwind Canals one day, lost to the whispers.
Think more that the void would be ranting as Lochton is a bit of a hoarder, maybe given unclear knowledge of possible treasure but no knowledge of where it is in retaliatory curses for having to find its way past crates and loot.
I imagine my rogue would be a simple sleeper agent and saboteur. The sort to open or close a gate at a critical moment to create chaos and then be cut down unceremoniously when caught.
At this age I think heād just assume heās finally started to lose his marbles. Can you go insane from whispers of the Void if you just assume youāve probably got a screw lose already?
