Your community is completely toxic

So first time playing Cata in ages, no looms and getting back into the swing of the class.
First dungeon entered…kicked before first boss and apparently the reason I was kicked was “return to quest giver” which is stupid as I never actually handed any quests in.

So yeah…maybe treat players with a little bit more respect than you are doing and thanks for ruining my day.

How do you expect people to learn if you kick them at the first excuse?

I’ll be on retail were My fun isnt dictated by morons who dont have a life

Agreed, people play this game like it’s on retail follower mode (npc’s instead of other players in dungeons, for any pure classic andy). It’s more common to meet antisocial people than sensible people.

I like Classic WoW and Cata, but I dislike large parts of the community, which makes playing the game outside of guild activities less attractive. WotLK suffered from similar issues, but they are more frequent now.

The further we get from 2019, the more toxic the community becomes for some reason.

Edit: RDF could most likely play a large part in this. Things did very much escalate after it was introduced. It solved several issues, but also created new ones.

I’ve mostly had good groups and friendly people. Haven’t really had anyone toxic, only one player kept trying to kick people because he wanted the trinket so I left the group.

I also believe dps in particular are having a bad time right now. RDFs biggest pro is convenience, but it’s also its biggest con. As a dps, you are basically the instantly replaceable outcast of WoW. If you happen to just die in an unfortunate spot, or during an unfortunate circumstance, it’s faster to kick you and get an instant replacement than trying to get a ress off, or waiting for you to corpserun back. Or if you for some reason have to or want to do something that isn’t a part of the gogogo skiprun zoomer meta. I basically never queue as dps nowadays for this reason, or play any pure dps class. You’re the lowest in the hierarchy and people couldn’t give two craps about you.

This is somewhat improved if you play a healer, and vastly improved if you’re a tank. Because you take longer to replace which makes people value you more. I can only feel for those wanting to play a pure dps, I would also like to play my mage a bit more, but it’s just not worth the headache.

Low level dungeons are horrid tbh.
It feels like a speedrun, you guys wanna do mythic timers? Head to retail…

I think all dungeon content in classic WoW would benefit from a design change. Only give the players who finish the dungeon in its entirety the end reward, be it xp while leveling or justice/valor points at endgame. I’m not a game developer by any means, but in my world it shouldn’t be too difficult to make it a requirement for every boss to be dead as the criteria for a finished dungeon.

The only dungeons that could be tricky in this regard would perhaps be dungeons with summoned bosses, like LBRS and ST (I’m sure there are a few other examples aswell). Perhaps you could exclude those very specific bosses from this. But definitely include optional bosses that are just there without the need for certain items/quests or similar.

RDF would benefit greatly from this, since then people would have no choice but to pick the same route. One of the biggest RDF group killers right now is people wanting different bosses/routes/skips etc. If you form your group manually though, you should still be free to run the dungeon as you please, because you can choose yourself if you want to be a part of that group or not. But you can’t choose your teammates in RDF, and that’s exactly why it would benefit of one available path, the intended one.

Sorry to hear that. I would like a normal friendly guild that would actualy help people.
I am on Pyrewood.

Gave up on cata soon after it launched tbh for these reasons

I never got kicked personally, just got tired off trying to keep others from getting kicked for no reason every other group

Most Cata players are no life sweat lords that know every inch of every dungeon and they all have one of those toilet gaming chairs so they dont have to leave their rooms while playing, you’d get kicked from group for needing a wee wee so better just do it there and then while gaming and save yourself the indignity of getting kicked from a group.

It freaks them out when someone new comes into their world and doesn’t know stuff

I feel like 3/4 of society is toxic. As a healer I join a party, i am dealing damage and actually I don’t heal others, because there’s nobody to heal. They start threaten to kick me out if I don’t start dealing damage - and then I’m kicked out after a while. Bravo. A game where they don’t let me heal :frowning: :disappointed_relieved:

  1. Be in random heroic dung finder
  2. Get Queu pop, join, mid-fight boss
  3. Getting kicked before boss fight was over.
  4. Did nothing wrong, just joined and started attacking boss. No afk, no whatever.

I guess i just wasnt good enough or they wanted another class or I dont know.
But im stuck with 30 min debuff.
And logged out and started playing BG3.

Im getting too tired and too old for this behavior.
Classic cata being a dissapointment… might be good time to stop playing.

I’ve turned my back on this version of the game indefinitely. I’m not a parser, I’m not a raider, I’m just a guy who enjoys the old aesthetic, the old models and the old way of playing. I’m the guy who fills in the gaps in your Tol Barad and the guy who is always levelling an alt in the open world and who probably contributes to the feeling of the game being a vast MMO. I’m the guy who is looking for transmogs and attending old raids for them, instead of pushing HC raiding. But now I quit because of the impatience, the ignorance and the disrespect of Cataclysm players. I have never seen WoW this bad in my whole life. I hope when those people see how empty the servers are and how few “nubs” or “casuals” there are to flex their gear and legendary items on, they realise they chased away the chance at maintaining any community resembling an MMO.

I’ve never left a “complaint” on these forums. Frankly, I find it embarrassing to. But I’m so certain that I’ll never log in again, that I’ve got nothing to lose.

I think I’ll be joining you on retail too, mate.

For several reasons, not all of them easily addressed.

But certain ones I feel like Blizzard themselves were keenly aware of, but they decided to go with design decisions that promotes this sort of behaviour anyway. It was probably the route with the least risk, but one can’t help but lament seeing history repeat itself. Especially after their blog post on the pillars of classic, back before Wrath launched. They were so correct in their assessment, but still, here we are.

Those players are most likely from retail, the crowd who loves dungeon finder and other automatism.
It’s literally YOUR community playing cata.

Your community is completely toxic

It’s due to inhaling too much contaminated FOMO dust from digging when Cataclysm first released.

Some guy told everyone they needed to have these items or you have lost the game all ready and everyone else is better than you.

Imagine what inhaling all that FOMO dust does to your brain after 2-3 weeks of 12 hour shifts digging through dirt and not get the item you wanted.

Needless to say it mad them mad, or madder than usual.

I also don’t have heirlooms and haven’t been kicked once. The only real issue I have is the stupid mass reporting and automated mutes/bans.
