Here is a link to more information, for those who may want to learn more! :
Also, shall i mention, feel free to tell more about your druids and their affinity with their specialization…
You can even share their art and some related stories about them; Don’t be shy! Stories and arts are always good and interesting to see!.
Choosing only one is hard! I’ve attachement to Talon, Antler, Fin, Moon, as well as the Thornspeakers and the Harvest Witch. The Raptari are lovely as well, and I even like the Flame.
As for what my druids are, I have three; though they are slightly uncertain as I do not have time to actually roleplay them.
Malaes is a Night elf, and a youngling. She have not chosen her path yet, but she’s likely to go toward Moon (because I enjoy playing Balance druid.) And well, a druid of the Talon would be slightly repetitive in theme when my main character is Narmë, wouldn’t it? Jarodh is a worgen, an Harvest Witch and more importantly a bone settler. If he were to choose an elven path, I suppose it would be the Grove or the Branch (though he is not aware, or at least not fully, that his powers are druidic in nature and that he could learn from the elves. The man was a peasant, still is, and mostly illiterate.) Pelt (Faith “Pelt” Fisher) is a Kul’tiran. I have hesitated to give her the Fin path, as I am slightly enamored with the stories of Selkies, but it would be unconvenient to portrait in game so… She come from a lineage of Thornspeakers/witch/Tidesage (it’s a work in progress, her levelling is stuck in WoD currently), so it’s her mother who was specialised in the sea. Herself will favor a stag and a “wolf” (the cat of the kul tiran) form.

I do not have art of Pelt yet, but she’s inspired by an old character of mine, so have picture of the Original Pelt instead: https://i.imgur.com/eiMnf3y.jpg https://i.imgur.com/88A9MN6.png (Artist: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Sphingids)
Could someone elaborate what is the difference between the path of Branch and Grove?
I always took the Grove as healers and Branch as the more spellcaster-y type, yet not as much as the Moon is, but it would be lovely to get a response from someone who knows better <3
Also, my druid here is still a Novice and I plan to RP her as she struggles with Cat/Bear forms, so might even go that path if she ever gets a grip of it, or a teacher!
Until that time, though, she is just rooting enemies with thorny vines, sleeping them with pollen and blooming minor areas underneath her friends to help them with healing a bit.
My druid, Areo, is an Ashen druid. The personality and characteristics of Ashamane were something that I’ve always enjoyed incorporating into my RP and when reading up on her, I was really pleased to see how well it matched up.
It allowed me to design Areo as I most wanted. He’s ferocious, fiercely independent, and willing to pay whatever price that is necessary to safeguard his people/the Wilds.
Ashamane is also a giant panther with a unique form and honestly I’m a sucker for good aesthetics.
It’s the most chad form of druidism tbh, though it should only be for Worgen as they are naturally more talented at druidism than night elves and all the others.
The best path, and least likely to make someone a heretic, is following the great Gonk. Why? Because he allows us to become dinosaurs and follow all the other loa.
of the Grove = simply being a druid of the local grove, e.g. in AV, the Dreamgrove and so on. It has nothing to do with the chosen totem, which is why Kump should probably drop it from the list above.
of the Branch = the healers, established mostly during Legion. They likely follow Aessina, considering her ties to life, dryads and ancients.
Aviana (and thus the totem of the Talon) is is Mythundis’ patron Wild God. She’s the mother of all birds, and she’s been shown to be fairly ruthless. “Fly or die” is something I try to incorporate in my RP through Mythundis being fairly unforgiving and unrelenting - naturally, he has his flaws.
In truth, we have little lore on both. Druid of the Grove is a name given to Druids that are in Alterac Valley, presumably under Elerethe Renferal. Renferal attempts to save the flora and fauna in Alterac Valley from the two factions fighting there (Horde vs Alliance).
Druids of the Branch are druids that we see on the Broken Shore, and in Darkshore. They take on the forms of Treants and Trees of Life, and actively use healing spells.
Neither really have a “confirmed” patron Wild God linked to them. Aessina is probable for druids of the Branch to follow; Aessina is all about life and is referred to as the beating heart of the forest. Branches take on a more supportive healing role, from what we see in-game.
My character has just set on the path of druidism, through the guidance of Mythundis and the Hand of Cenarius. And I am hoping that the path to follow will come to me through in character learning.
But to me it stands between becoming a Druid of the Claw, and a Druid of the Branch as it looks now.
David is a natural tank and I have always associated the bear to him if I were to choose an animal, there’s also a bunch of events from an old guild of mine heavily relating to Furbolg and Ursoc.
But at the same time he is also a healer, and restoration is something that he would want to focus on.
I’m looking forward to seeing where the roleplay takes me though, and I will not exclude anything.
I love most forms i’ve seen of druidism/natural magic depicted in the… varied fantasy games i’ve explored and have never been disappointed in their conveyed fantasy.
But in WoW specifically, the practice of Loa comes from my personal likes of primitive deific entities. Raptari are like a mix of both likes, which is 200% awesome.
I love it how bears represent the untamed fury of the nature mixed in with the compassion to defend those you hold dear. You know, mama bear trope etc.
