Your favourite classic quest chain

Mine is Legend of stalvan quest chain, rumourmonger quest chain, linken quest chain and barrens hunt quest chain.

quite a pack of adventure I played those quests.

what chain you like in classic?

The Stalvan one is good. Probably my favourite from the top of my head.

Not sure, there are so many.
‘It’s a Secret to Everybody’ - the Linken quest chain that begins in Un’Goro is a classic.

The Sharpbeak chain that begins in Hinterlands, and has that super-cute ending.

The Bride of the Embalmer chain. Another classic Darkshire quest.

And let’s not forget the epic Rayne’s Cleansing in Ashenvale.

Another I really enjoy is the long Jaedenar chain in Felwood, which has everything. I could ever want from a quest. Travel, exposition, a challenge in the form of a mini dungeon crawl and a tricky fight against three named demons which is entirely soloable as long as you make use of all your abilities.

Words of the High Chief in Winterspring is also one I really like, and results in a pretty darned nice reward.

Moving on to Outlands we have the highly enjoyable Lantresor of the Blade chain in Nagrand,

Watcher Leesa O’s chain in Zangarmarsh.

And of course What’s Wrong at Cenarion Thicket in Terrokar Forest.

I could go on.

What do most of these quests have in common? Travel. Lots of travel from zone-to-zone, lots of legwork. Lot’s of different facets and elements which, when combined make up a true journey. I guess that it’s for this very reason that many others will actually hate these kinds of quest, but not me.

I like the battle for Darrowshire chain. I liked the stories that the dead NPCs have in Classic WoW, their way of story telling and dealing with their deaths was way better than the watered down rubbish that we got in Shadowlands.

Borak, Son of Oronok long chain quest that leads to the Cipher of Damnation. Shadowmoon.

I’ll have to go with Linken’s from vanilla and Hero of the Mag’har from tbc . Maybe the Karazhan attunement aswell for a personal top 3 , dunno

Little Pamela.

Battle for Darrowshire had me tear up irl and feel extra heroic at the same time. In that sense it is very similar to the quest in Baldur’s Gate 2 involving a ghost of a halfling child.

Linken’s quest had me utterly confused, since when I did it for the first time in Vanilla, I’ve had literally never heard of Legend of Zelda or the Link character.

Surprisingly, nothing in particular stands out in TBC, but in Wrath I was especially impressed by the quest where you fight your future and past selves, and the one where you fetch A’dal from Shattrath to ressurect a common Alliance soldier who died fighting the Scourge. Oh and one remark in NPC idle dialogue stuck with me. It’s two soldiers talking in an Alliance base underneath newly returned Naxxramas I think in Dragonblight (?), and one of them goes, and I’m paraphrasing “Dude don’t worry, we gonna be just fine, I hear they are sending an entire platoon of Hands of A’dal outta Outland, they will make short wotk of all the undead here”. And that we did.

Something I actually agree with on - love that chain - just reached the named Demon Fight on a Priest.

Scarab lord chain. It might not be the most funn quest chain to grind if you attempt to do it after the opening, but it did create a serverwide event that was highly competitive on some servers. It created enough drama and stories at least and either broke your guild or made it stronger.

The Journey to end game so you can finally hit that unsub button.

Stalvan quest is for sure good, i just generally enjoy questing in duskwood
