Vanilla - Patch 1.7 Beast Mastery Hunter. The 1.7 buff to BM was insanity; with Bestial Wrath activated my pet could kill Mages and Warlocks by itself. I donāt think a single Hunter who was playing back then didnāt respec.
Wrath - Retribution Paladin with heroic Bloodfall. Bloodfall was an Agility polearm, but because it had three gem slots in it you could throw three Strength gems onto it and it became your pre-Shadowmourne BiS. I had it, along with a load of other 277 gear and a Heroic Deathbringerās Will, and for weeks I was the terror of Wintergrasp until they nerfed Ret and off-spec stats with the Cata pre-patch. No skill required, just run into the enemy raid and spam Divine Storm.
WoD - Discipline Priest. Conquest tokens you could buy off the AH plus shields which reflect damage to anyone who hits them plus Vanish equals god of war. I was top damage and healing in every BG. It was amazing.

When I played rogue and they got legendary daggers, that was pretty awesome
When WoTLK came out, I had a spec for my Death Knight which involved spending talents in all 3 trees(Old Talent system).
You effectively became a tank with extreme self healing and a permanent pet.
You could solo everything from elite quests to dungeons, before overgearing them. It was a lot of fun =P

Wotlk - Blood DK was unstoppable. In pvp I could kill 2 players on my own. Everytime.
Legion, this afflock, and I still sucked. Didnāt play before that.
By combining blood with other two specs you could solo whole other team if you played dirty.
At the start of wotlk DK and Ret paladin were both so op that nothing after that has even come close to that.
Paladin running after people with wings on while in bubble oneshotting people with divine storm spam.

TBC 2.4 BM Hunter. Easiest ever specc to play. Spam a macro-> top DPS meters.
TBC Paladin tanking was also immensely rewarding in HCs, AoE gods.
BTW, nice thread.
Capped level 70 rogue full PvP armour! The best PvP Iāve ever had.
Iād say resto druid patch 3.0 - 3.2,
Spammable lifeblooms x3
Spammable wild growths which healed about the same amounts of rejuvinations back then.
Overall druid were rediculusly OP in terms of output per mana spent early WotlK.
Cata - Shadow on Madness of Deathwing was a blast.
I would go with Prot paladin during WOD 6.2 patch. It really felt like captain america IRL when 80% of your spells was avenger shield because of the 50% base proc just from tier set not counting everything else.
WoLK ret pala with shadowmourne.
Hands down.
Also wotlk pre batch ele shaman thunderstorm which took awhile to nerf the one that you could dismount people and throw them 60+ yards away giving them a repair bill at bgās was awesome.
All in all elemental shaman was my favorite spec and the incarnation of wotlk ele shaman still is my favorite class/spec it was just insanely fun too bad cataclysm made it unfun and boring and it just never recovered.
@ OP
Ret Paladin a guilty pleasure in Legionā¦? I mean I wouldāve said this about the spec in WoD.
I wouldnāt quite say the same thing.
Iām enjoying it now more in Battle for Azeroth though.
I have always played a shaman, so I do not know what OP means.

Not really an OP spec per se, but during Cata prepatch (I think?) resi was way, way overtuned for a day or so and u could get over 70% damage reduction or something from it if u full gemmed resi on pvp gear. Was winning 1v6s on my shaman in BGs without even being close to dying or doing anything special. That was so broken.
Also played lots of assarog in bfa prepatchā¦

I loved my resto shaman during wotlk, i outhealed holy paladins in single target Just by spamming chain heal and earth shield. Basicly the only thing i did during the entire ICC raid. Chain heal chain heal chain heal earthshield and repeat.
yeah, that was realy the crazy one
Even Ion does remember this one i think
