What is this? I do not want my login to expire, EVER
It hasn’t expired in the last 20 years, why it should now? I didn’t even remember what my password was and risked missing the raid…

Hope you are trolling.

Cookies have a expiration date for safety.

Seems like the cookies are not working anymore. I started my pc at about 18:30 today. Had to log in since a long time. Had some pc maintenance and booted my pc. Had to log in again. It was not even 19:00 server time. Not even 30 minutes later than my previous login. Not sure what is going on.

The OP is obviously exagerating the time period of not logging in. But he has a point.

Feel yourself lucky :stuck_out_tongue: in all software that I developed was always 15 minutes.

And tbh I always log in with my google account

It’s a bug, there’s some threads on the US forum about it

Well, just to inform you. We did not have to log in again for years (and that is NOT an exageration). So if this is a new blizzard policy, than that it is. But it is a new situation.

Edit:
Now i see the previous post :+1:

Tbh that things of “keep me log in” should be completely eradicated even if is a bug in this case.

They are a massive security breach.
Its not hard to make a program to read all the cookies in your PC, is the thing used with YouTubers who lose their channel.

Just as a heads up, I would edit out the swearing if I were you, it’s against the forum rules.

The launcher seems to want me to log in every time today. I’m not sure what is going on. It’s annoying.

If it’s not a public computer it’s not less safe because if they have access to your PC than there’s a million attack vectors they could use, like for example a key logger which could record what you type. I would rather have an attacker have a login cookie than my password (if the application even works with plain cookies).

I would say staying logged in is safer because it requires less interaction of processes and the user with login screens and passwords which is always a risk (yes users are a risk to themselves). And passwords in these applications are usually stored as encrypted hashes so you can’t go looking for them either.

They are referring to the BattleNet launcher, not the Website.
For the past 2 or 3 days some of us have had to log in to the Bnet Launcher every single day (sometimes more than once if significant time has elapsed between gaming sessions), despite having our credentials saved.

I didn’t have to log in today, it actually remembered!

Very annoying, yes. Somtimes a few times a day. (yesterday)
Now I opend launcher en it didn’t ask for a password. “keep me logged in” works again :+1:

Mine expires every single day. Worse still, battle.net cannot launch except through the installer. So I basically install battle.net every day (without removing the existing one, so it’s not a reinstall).

Battle.net client needs some work.
