Your top 3 favourite items/toys for RP?

Blingtron’s Circuit Design Tutorial. The actual game is hidden from anyone else, so you can use it to be constantly doing the “working” animation, which even sticks while walking.

The Goblin Gumbo Kettle pulls double duty for my witch-doctor and chef characters.

Set of Matches comes in handy when NPCing antagonists for a guild that likes to commit war crimes loads.

Deceptia’s Smoldering Boots come in handy when NPCing the result of said war crimes.

This only works if the people you intend to RP with are already close enough for their games to have loaded in your model.

If new people arrive, they will see you with the Ravenbear Disguise applied, horns and all.

JewelCraft, I’ve been using this one ever since I saw Kalious use it during the Redridge Games when both our characters dragged in a wounded contestant to the infirmary. Depending on how the animation looks like on the model, I always use it every time it can represents my emotes reasonably well.

Orb of Deception combined with Reflecting Prism has helped me with hosting a good amount of events in the past, the prism overal has been great for those roleplaying a toymodel like Kovork’s Costume.

Honourable mention are all the banners you can have with the toys, from the pvp one that you keep on your back to the ones added in 8.2 that you can hold while walking around.

Maybe I’m enjoying them a bit too much:

I use the Angler’s Fishing Raft to get around quite a bit (doubling as my awesome and definitely-not-leaking smuggling boat).

But my choice for 1 through 3 has to be the Suspicious Crate:

Oh yeah, and this has revolutionized beach episode events.

My current absolute favourite is https://ptr.wowhead.com/item=170204/symbol-of-gral
It gives the weapon a silvery glow, which I’ve been using to depict when my Nelf’s weapon has been blessed!

Two that have already been mentioned, the fishing chair is fantastic, and Blingtron’s Circuit Design Tutorial is perfect for when you want a character to look busy.

There are a couple of items I use for RP. Some of them are more impressive than others. But three of them stand out as the ones I love to use the most. I used to use these items to DM RP events. I wondered long and hard if I should post this. My fear is that if people misuse the technique then it might get nerfed. But I decided to share it anyway. (So please use responsibly.)

Glyph of Disguise: This is not an item, but allows you to copy any humanoid you can pickpocket with a rogue. The appearance only lasts for 10 minutes unfortunately. But, you can copy some interesting NPCs like the faceless ones or any of the naga in the Eye of Azshara.

Narcissa’s Mirror: This item puts your appearance on your battle pet but makes it half your size. I might not be very useful, but there are some items that change your appearance into a creature that is twice its normal size. So when you put the appearance on the pet, it reverts to an actual size. These appearance toys include:
+Barnacle-Encrusted Gem
+Bones of Transformation
+Blessing of the Old Gods
+Iron Boot Flask
The effect lasts until your pet is de-spawned.

Magical Pet Biscuit: If you already know what these do, then you might know where I am going with this. Magical pet biscuits can be bought from a vendor in Pandaria. (Please follow a guide on how to find him.) When you feed your pet the biscuit it grows double the size. Some battlepets are just normal models that are half their regular size, like: Sister of Temptation, or Wretched Servant to name but two. Using them on a pet like these gives you a follower to carry your bags, or an extra demon or pet.

Now some of you might ask what happens if you use all 3? Exactly what you think would happen. You can steal the appearance of an NPC, put the appearance on your pet and increase its size. For those who know how to use it, it makes an interesting RP encounter.

NB
Please don’t use this to troll people in Stormwind. It used to be that you could use the toxic wasteling instead of the pet biscuits, but it got nerfed because people used it to troll.

Are quest items allowed in here? Almost afraid of mentioning anything in case of fun detected.

Considering we’re getting the ability to re-do quests and thus get the items in 8.2.5, I’d say you’re good to go.

Not a toy as such, but the food that makes a hunters pet a big bigger, when I play Nith I always try and pick a mount for her that I can also tame a hunter pet of the same model, then when she dismounts I can summon the pet and she can lead her mount behind her or tether it somewhere around camp, but the default tamed pets tend to be a little smaller than the mount models until you use that food item and it makes them the same size.

My absolute favourite are Giants Growth potions.

Makes it much easier to spot people I have no desire to interact with.

^ Easy to miss because it’s war campaign stuff and thus mandatory to most characters, but the cannon from the quest has no global CD (or any), a long range and shoots cannon balls that land with a huge splash - and it works everywhere. Perfect for cannon barrages in ship-related RP, and an amazing lil’ immersion enhancer.

Heartily recommend getting a hold of it on any pirate characters that haven’t done the war campaign already, insofar as you don’t mind them being unfinished. Also! Refrain from trolling with it pl0x.

Also, while I’m at it, Blizzard has hotfixed the darkmoon tinctures that made your character shrink just a tiny little bit - now they work with lvl 120s! They’re perfect for adjusting character heights. More or less Darkmoon Firewaters, but for shrinkin’.

And seeing as it’s a minimum of 3, the X-52 Rocket Helmet has provided me with many a good means to send goblins skywards, intentional or otherwise.
