Your top 3 favourite items/toys for RP?

Roleplayers use plenty of items, toys and abilities to enhance their roleplay, from the Elixir of Tongue to pet enhancements to food buffet tables.

Elixir of Tongue excluded, what are your top 3 favourites from items/toys for roleplay purposes?

Maybe it’s something that helps portray who your character is, brings immersion to camping in the woods, or delight in a RP hub or event?

Blingtron 7000, so that people can pick it up in the hub.
Fishing chair, comfortable statue rp.
Goldtusk inn breakfast, means for social interaction.

And ofcourse… apples.

To make a slightly different seating setup:

For doing totemic shaman stuff I like to use the Totem of Harmony:

And I’ll lump them into one, but the Pennants are all pretty neat for RP-PvP and general flavour purposes. It can help identify who’s the commander in a very fast-paced RP-PvP setting, and they tend to make for great screenshots!

Nice topic there Acrona!

There are too many of them which i don’t have in mind at the moment. But generally, the transformation tools and toys come to my mind at first, like Orb of Sindorei, Arakkoa toy, the toy which makes you a ghost, etc.

Aside from them:

Reflecting Prism, it’s very very helpful.

Potion of Illusion (forgot the exact name), which let’s you copy a player’s appearance, similar to the Mage’s spell.

And, Glyph of Pickpocket or whatever the name was (seems i forgot everything), which allows a rogue to copy a humanoid NPC’s appearance when you pickpocket them. It’s very useful and fun for RP.

So with all these, i can be nearly anything (IC) as Kump the Orc Rogue (OOC). And generally useful for RPing unplayable races or NPCing them for an event.

  1. That pink picnic basket
Why? because its funny to use it for when Nar takes Thoo Koo on a date. or when he kidnaps someone and forces them to have lunch with him. if only it came with a pink frilly table as well.

  2. The pet image capture thing
Why? I use it to turn into a wasp or other random things. I also once used it for a horrific gag where I crawled out of Thoo Koo’s mouth pennywise style.

  3. Prestigious Pennant
Normally use it in RP-PVP events, especially when I do my General Butt-naked strategy.

ooo great question!

  1. Prisms, just because I’ve seen so many people use 'em to rp different races and it’s great! Really opens up RP

  2. Honor banners, for flavour

  3. The Highmountain Tauren totems you can buy in Thunder Totem. Great for HMT rp’ers to show their different tribes!

I recently laid my hands on that timwalking toy that turns night into day. It has no RP purpose but this is by far my favourite thing atm. For the past 5 years I’ve only been able to play late at night. The first time I used this was the first time I had seen daylight in ages and I ended up just exploring the world and the earlier expansions for the full duration of the effect.

The Mushroom chair for whenever you’re by a campfire and for once don’t want to sit in the dirt grab this for yourself or put it down for anyone, dont even have to be in a party for it.

The Ravenbear Disguise for the stealth animation without being transparent.

And finally Sunwarmed Sand for those that want to have an RP session set when the sun is high and shinning instead of the afternoons and nights. Sky box changers in general are the best when the duration is long and CD is low.

Most of my favorite toys are, obviously, Highborne-related, cause Highborne RPer… So here I go;

  1. Highborne Soul Mirror; That toy works awesome as either a Mirror Image or as a way for my Highborne to randomly inspect his own looks at any social event. Must be looking right and proper, lest they confuse him for one of the… former lower caste plebians!

  2. Black Ice; Nothing screams ancient rich dude more then a giant black diamond on one’s finger. ICly I used it as a magical ring that was gifted to him and his family from a clan or Jinyu and allowed the wearer to turn into a fish.

  3. Pilfered Sweeper; I just loved that thing, it was fun to take with me all over Kaldorei lands… Having it to try and sweep everything clean… In a Forest… :stuck_out_tongue:

Sack of Spectral Spiders: Summon spiders! A fun little spell-effect to attack players or monsters with IC. Great when paired with a spectral spinner pet! - Who wouldn’t freak out with a bunch of ghost-spiders attacking them?

Farwater Conch: A wonderful farsight-like effect and with the ability to rain down a torrent of water-blobs! A must for hydromancer-style RP, and you can really give other RP’ers that odd sense of “what the heck is going on!?” when you’re using this.

Magic Pet Mirror: Great for when you want to do something like give someone a quest IC while being in the form of a water elemental or as a podling. Massive pool to choose from!

Not a toy, but an old glyph/ability: Dark Apotheosis. I thought it was super cool to be an edgy demonic belf warlock when i first started playing/RP’ing. For the most part people ignored me but it didn’t bother me, I just thought it looked cool.

Blazing Wings: I’ve used these a few times on my fire mage for RP purposes, to show off like a powerful attack or something. It went well with my circle of flame headpiece.

Heartsbane Grimoire: One i haven’t used yet but did plan to for some spectral/ghost-styled RP.

Bonus! Soul Inhaler: Perfect for warlock/DH rp.

The pillow/cushions for sitting on and for getting past troublesome barriers stopping one from RPing in a place of choice.

the gnomish x ray specs to confirm whether or not that suspicious night elven lad is actually a lad

and finally the football, for all those moments when you feel like reaching through your computer monitor to smack someone but cannot.

#bigraceproblems … they all look like children to me.

The ideas on here are all brilliant and I will steal some since I had no ideas of my own. Maybe that priest toy that shows if you are currently light or void aligned?

MVP right here. I used to use it to turn into an anima golem among many other pets

The Soul Inhaler for my Warlock or Death Knight. Always good to rip the soul out of its body…!

The Heartsbane Grimoire, as a way to, in a sense, have a ‘corrupted’ outlook. Shadowform, perhaps. Or simply look like someone that was cursed!

The two rings from Haris Pilton are also pretty good, if you play a noble!

My picks would be:

The dazzling rod for the beloved moonball tournament.

The suspicious crate for some hilarious infiltration/spying

And lastly the smoldering boots from Draenor for those joyful moments when you get scorched by fire related abilities.

A lovely trick, and not a well known one: use the [Ravenbear Disguise], and then [Moroes’ Famous Polish] on top of it. Dispell the Moroes’ and your character’s in a stealth animation, crouched, without being in stealth or having the Ravenbear’s accessories, for around fifteen minutes or so… however long Ravenbear lasts at least, I don’t know it off the top of my head. Perfect for when your character is sneaking around somewhere they shouldn’t be.

A third (and fourth) are the [Hearthstation] and [Hearthstone Boards] for when my characters own actual Hearthstone cards/decks and are playing against other characters. Adds to the immersion. When one’s timer runs out, I usually switch to the other one, and if the other player also has the toys, they usually help by placing down their own.
