YOUR Top 3 Iterations of specs of all time

Just a fun thread for once.

What is your top three iterations of a spec in the entire history of WoW? I will list mine with spec and xpac:

  1. SV Hunter (WoD) - Best kiting the game has ever seen. If burst of speed rogues whine about this spec, then you know it was top draw.

  2. Frost Mage (MoP) - Deep Freeze and Bomb, say no more.

  3. Frost DK(WoD) - This spec done DAMAGE and had OUTRAGEOUS survivability with Death Siphon (absolutely busted ability)

EDIT: For PvP.

Pvp? MoP arms war.
Raids - legion shadow.

  1. Wotlk UH dk: original chains of ice, good self sustain, great kiting and peeling, and good damage without cds. I liked how it was a dot spec, and I really hate the scuffed bm hunter/demo imitation that it has become.

  2. Wod Fdk: mostly same reasons as you mentioned. Also importantly because it did damage outside of cds. And it was fun to be able to spam purge with that one removed frost rune spell, I don’t remember the name.

  3. Classic+tbc SP: It wasn’t the best, but it was just very fun and unique. That’s all I played back then, so it’s probably nostalgia.

  1. Cata Enha - great all-around spec. Not the strongest but good in every aspect
  2. MoP Ele - same as up. Good in every aspect and viable in many comps.
  3. MoP Fire Mage - significantly weaker than Frost but one of the most fun specs I ever played.
  1. WoD Mistweaver: It had Chi, it had 2 stances, and there was no GCD on Soothing Mist.
  2. Legion Survival Hunter: I miss Lacerate and Throwing Axes.
  3. MoP Fire Mage: Alter Time > Frostjaw > Deep Freeze > Pyroblast spam!

For me, it is MoP Enhancement Shaman.
TBC Shadow.
WotLK Death Knight and Arms Warrior with BLADESTORMMM
WotLK Retribution Paladin had a pretty cool talent tree compared to how bad it was in Vanilla and TBC.

Oh yeah. That Survival was the most fun one I’ve ever played. Since it got a rework in BFA it’s not even close.

Legion Arcane Mage
Cataclysm Fire Mage
Precognition spellreflect counterspell before getting hit from a stormbolt is pretty nutty.

Fire Mage (MoP)
Arms Warrior (MoP)
Holy Paladin (MoP)
There is no expansion that comes close in terms of class design.

Demo (MoP)
Affliction (MoP)
Demo (DF if the AI would be good)

Indeed.
I just don’t know why they removed the axe throwing man. It was a really satisfying button to press. Hit like a truck too.

cata frost mage
cata sub rogue
first season cata frost dk with necro strike
