So, if you cash out the base subscription, the price for the base edition of an expansion, plus an extra 30€, you can now get 3 days of calm leveling and a head start in war within.
I’ve understood the sales pitches for previous epic editions, but it has been cosmetics. This time around they’ve added something that wholly changes the experience of the gameplay. So what do you guys think is going to happen? Is it going to be similar to froggers for the first few weeks as they half half a week extra to prepare for mythics etz? The same frustrations and quarrels in communities? Or will it not have an impact at all?
Personally i see people not being able to join up and level together with their friends (an already ongoing frustration in a lot of communities it seems) and worries that blizzard is constantly increasing the amount of content you need to pay extra for, such as transmogs, pets, mounts and now access to expansions early, when most of these things would have traditionally been worked into the subscription.
Will this be calm ? I am thinking , unusual , if there is the new expander - everybody will be over there and jumping . So busy and too many of the questers in the way, and maybe the crash and the bug and the issue .
I do not buy , I enjoy Form World of WarCraft , in the game , all the people are the RushBots and too obsessed with the rushing . All the farters that come move away from me in one instant , but this is bad , I want a farter around now I am Old Age.
Another thread on this? Very well.
I think the first 3 days will be riddled with the usual bugs and server problems, people will complain they paid extra for 3 days access and aren’t getting it. Especially due to the usual load of people who take time off work for it.
Then we will have the same bugs when everyone else joins in due to the extra load, and there will be more screaming.
That’s what I think is going to happen.
I bought the Epic Edition. I probably won’t be able to use the early access (depending on the actual release date).
Personally, I think people are making too much of a fuss about it. The only players that would get an advantage out of 3 days early access are the players who are going to buying the game with in-game Gold anyway.
If levelling with friends is your priority then you can arrange to do that together. That is no different from friends arranging to level through the night the on launch and those who have to work and can only play in the evening.
Players can still set their own priorities. If all getting EA means a lot to a group then they can agree to do it. If a group can’t all afford the cost of the EA package then they can agree to level a character together outside of EA.
I have taken part in EA in other game launches and generally they do a good job of spreading the load. There is no advantage to be gained beyond leveling in those extra days. So whether you level in EA, on launch or closer to first reset, you’ll all be limited to the same content. There is no getting ahead in raids or dungeons for example.
I understand that some dislike the feature. That was bound to happen.
I haven’t bought the epic edition.
a) I couldn’t afford it - I haven’t bought any WW expansion
b) I didn’t particularly want to do the beta; been there, done that, first few weeks spoiled and
c) there’s no point in the extra 3 days for me as I have nothing to get ahead with; also the realms will crash, close for bugs to be fixed and the starting areas will be overcrowded.
And maybe they’ll be less overcrowded for those of us happy to wait 3 days.
Personally, I don’t think it’s the way for Blizzard to go. Yes, they have to produce profits for Microsoft but this isn’t the way to do it. It’s causing antagonism between those who have it and those who don’t and, tbh, I don’t think it’s really a bonus.
