You're in combat bug?

there is one thing in Wow that really is annoying to me besides no release date for 9.1.
and that is the you are in combat message.
i am clearly not in combat but i can’t mount up is this a bug or why is it happening

Could be several reasons you get stuck in combat. Without knowing any details, we can’t really guess. If it’s in BfA then a common culprit is the Bwonsamdi boon, so get rid of that.

While it’s not a fix for a recurring situation, a way to drop the combat stuck bug is to Alt-F4 and relog that character. That will drop the combat unless you’re in a spot where you immediately get engaged again.

Yeah, have had this too a couple of times, very annoying. Sometimes it seems to help if you engage and defeat a mob (preferably one with low HP).

Kill a nearby critter

Very annoying when it happens

  1. Roll monk.
  2. Finish any kind of fight with Fists of Fury.
  3. Wait at least 5 extra seconds after combat ends to actually be out of combat. Every. Single. Time.

The funny thing is that this doesn’t happen in classic, i’ve never had it happen to me, so its something they broke on the way which i do not understand how

You can aggro mobs without pulling them, why, why is this a thing, i remember back in mechagon you would just randomly be held hostage in combat and the only way to get out was to die or alt f4 for an hour, but it happened so often that there wasn’t any point of dying to reset it, i ended up doing dailies mostly on my druid & rogue since they can vanish out of combat ( and dh to some degree but meh dh )

We’ve had critters keep us in combat in Classic. It’s worse because they aren’t as easy to target or see. They don’t have names like they do in Retail :smile:

SO often it’s this! You can’t even see the critter you aggroed, and tabbing won’t do anything. AoE the entire area if you can.

In Retail if I get stuck in combat and I cant’ see anything obvious I log out and back in. Gets rid of whatever it is.

Most of the time its a critter that you’ve scared or tanking dummies.

There’s a bunch of enemy NPC in Shadowlands that are fighting each other. It’s pretty easy to get into combat with one of them somehow without noticing, even when mounted, and as a result you will stay in combat as long as they are fighting each other, which might as well be forever, and it doesn’t matter how far away you are. It keeps happening to me mostly in Maldraxxus.

At least that’s my best guess on why it seems to be happening more often now.
