BEFORE READING AND WRITTING
Writting the url or the company of real boosting money company is again the ToS, please do not name any company doing this.
Yoooo …
Got a advertisement on Youtube of a company that boost for real money.
For those who doesn’t know it’s clearly illegal by Blizzard and not allowed at all.
While it is easy to report on WoW a service illegal, what about a customer can do to report a website ?
Multiple real money booster happened in the past.
But today since i have first time touched wow in TBC, i never ever saw a advertisement of boosting in WoW in YOUTUBE !
Imagine the company exposing themself hard like this to the public while paying youtube for the advertisement. It show how the profit must be hight on boosting.
I’m seriously shocked and would like to know what can we do versus a whole company website. I’ve heard for blizzard it took a while to manage a company like that in justice, but that company right now advertise for real money boosting, like it’s normal.
Havn’t seen it myself yet, luckily, but I suppose we can’t do more than make them aware of it - and we really should.
Does Blizzard still have a email you could send screenshots of this stuff to? I know theres Hacks@Blizzard.com but obviously thats not the right one to mail it to.
Nothing really. Blizzard can report the video to youtube, claiming it uses copyrighted content, but at most the channel will get a copyright strike(and then there’s the fair use clause). In the end they’ll keep advertising, but won’t use and wow content to evade this.
I’ve never searched for anything like that but I’ve been getting a lot of ads for two different websites offering level boosts for real money these past few weeks. They literally replaced the official WoW ads I used to have on YouTube, Facebook and even Wowpedia
The algorithm is pretty easy, if you’ve watched a video of boosting, you are more likely to get an boost add
For example:
Classic 58 boost
Fresh boosted character
Paladin boost
Mage boost
How to boost
Boost prices
State of woow boosting
Etc.
Sites like warcraftlogs has standardized adds, the same way streamers has a blazing boost logo. just as “hub” sites has how to grow 20 inches, single ladies in your neighborhood etc.
You don’t have to deliberately search for I want to buy boost
ROFL you have literally Zero idea on how paid ads work.
As long as the advertiser selects the keyword “World of Warcraft” they can target any WoW related vids.
Any advertiser can select any keyword and demographic for their ads. If I want to sell bleach I will target women, aged 18-65, and then I will add keywords such as “make-up”, “beauty”, “mommy vid” etc.
Heck if I want to, I can even target biker men, in the same way, just because I can, and those people will have never ever looked at home hair bleaching videos.
